In this particular game (I don't know the other editions since I never had the pleasure to played them) most of the cars were concept cars except some cases that the cars already existed (such us the ferrari f50) but most of them weren't on the market and even some cars like the ford indigo never exceeded the prototype version.

Thanks to their Racetracks and Soundtracks old NfS Games had a mystical Touch. For example when driving that over that icy Mountain Road you always sensed something mysterious, something you couldn't put your Finger on. Nothing of that is left in today's NfS Games.

Old school trance, best electronic music style ever created, imo! These kind of tracks are perfect for racing games but today we have licensed music in racing games which just doesn't fit into racing not nearly as good as this music does. EA, bring back old school NFS and along with it, 90's trance music! But no, you are doing everything you can to ruin the series completely (hell, it's ruined already!)

Sadly, but NFS would not be as awesome as NFS 2 SE and 3 Hot Pursuit have been. We can only put this awesome music into our car's audio and feel like we play NFS once again :)

This brings me back! You gotta appreciate the effort put into these old NFS games... Accurate car information, real life slideshows, music done in-site, good graphics (yeah, back then the graphics were good), the fun cheat codes, the unlockable stuff and specially, the showcase videos. For me the videos were a big plus, you got to see how the cars looked in real life, you would see them in action. Starting from Hot Pursuit 2, the games started to look and feel rushed and sloppy, despite I love HP2 and the fact that they got some of the old cars back like the F50 and the F1, but still... The licensed music, the tired career system, the reused landscapes, the NFS cars...

Anyone listening to this gem during covid? Can't help saying that those were the days when video games were much more than just video games. I used to play this game on my first pc with a celeron processor and 128mb ram. Driving those old model supercars through the valleys, mountains with these kinds of trance music playing in the background felt so amazing and real. There was no HD back then but it was a golden era.

I can't believe it. I have grown with the NFS games, the old ones being my favorite. It's been 15 years since the release of NFS II SE, my favorite game of the series. I remember getting this a few weeks after it's release, when I was 3 years old. This was how I got into cars, and this music started to form my taste in beats. Now, in two weeks I'm getting my driver's license. Of course I'm going to ride to these songs.
