FF12, can't miss out on that in this conversation. One of the best looking games on the PS2. They could have spruced up the res to 720p and cleaned up the aliasing and release it on the PS3 and it'd still be called one of the best looking games. Lots of early JRPGs on the PS3 looked similar to FF12

One of the differences between PS2 & PS3 is the traffic cars during the race event or pursuit event. In PS2, there are no traffic cars once the race/pursuit events start, making it impossible to do dynamic pursuit breaker.

I played the PS2 version back in ‘06. A few years ago I bought the 360 version of this game. Holy cow was there a big jump! I was so thrown off! Not to mention the PS3/360 has the review mirror and cut scenes that were never in the PS2 version/the ones here in the video. It was like playing a whole ass new game!

Honestly, the only noticable differences I see here are the lighting and resolution. Things are a lot shinier and sharper on the PS3 than on PS2, and that's really it. Aside from those, you could tell me the PS2 version was the PS3 version and I'd believe you!

Also the engine in both gens is the same from MW 2005 on Xbox 360, you can notice it for effects such the NO2 trails. It is incredible that this game runs on consoles like the PS2.

More of a timing thing: Most Wanted released on November 11, 2005; Xbox 360 released on November 22, 2005; The PS3 was released (exacly) on November 11, 2006 with NFS Carbon as a launch title. And sadly EA probably didn’t care enough to port the game to the PS3 1 year later, since NFS was in the “yearly release” phase.

i had the ps2 version and it was indeed quite solid, better than the kind of bad underground 2 and most wanted ports before. but i dont like how they took out the cutscenes with the peoples faces sitting in their cars. could have been easily done with video files if the ps2 couldnt handle the graphics. but they left them out to have a selling point for the next gen versions imo

Im pretty sure thats no PS3 Version. The PS3 version had an extremely absurd ammount of motion blur that you couldnt turn off and a noticeable purple tint across all game, not only in the FrontEnd.

NFS Carbon was released in October 2006 from the Gamecube/PS2/OG Xbox/Xbox 360/PC/ platforms, console re-release in November 2006 PS3/Wii, obviously NFS Carbon on PS3 and Xbox 360 is still working, so Scarface The World is Yours was released in October 2006 PS2/OG Xbox/PC, console re-release in 2007 from Wii, So Scarface The World is Yours has not been re-released PS3/Xbox 360 style from NFS Carbon PS3/Xbox 360 will work, but why Scarface The World is Yours was on PS3 and Xbox 360 so it still doesn't work and was canceled next generation

I miss the old "Police Civic Cruisers" i think they were called, and the lights, what brand of car were they even supposed to be? i always remember the older artstyle and have good memories, of course in modern need for speed we have the Ford Crown Victoria and Dodge Charger as the main real life police cruisers in high quality now.

Я тут все сокрушаюсь, что NFS Most Wanted 2005 для PC портировали версию для Xbox Original, а не Xbox 360. Последняя намного красивее и детализированнее, с кучей новых эффектов и внятной дистанцией прорисовки. И выглядит в разы круче, чем все эти фанатские HD-поделки-сборки для PC. Минус X360-версии в том, что это ранняя игра поколения и у нее очень неровный фреймпейсинг (несколько некомфортно играть)
