This was probably the intermediary game between 2000's fast and furious need for speeds and the modern slick need for speeds and it worked flawlessly because i think it blends the two styles well, resulting in probably the best NFS game. The slick driving and destruction of the fast and furious NFS games, with the pretty graphics of modern hardware (this looked pretty fuckin amazing in 2010)

When I see this game used at GameStop, Walmart, or other stores, I feel like I’m visiting a place associated with unforgettable, fantastic memories. I remember opening the game box on Christmas 2010 and putting the disc into my (now broken) Xbox 360 S. In no time, I was navigating Seacrest County. This game was pre-Forza Horizon, and I was too young and unfamiliar with open world games like GTA and Just Cause. Consequently, this was my first open world game. I felt a great sense of freedom because Forza’s 1, 2, and 3 simply lacked the ability to roam/explore. When Forza Horizon came out in 2012, I could only think about how Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit possibly influenced it. Both were fantastic games; I still prefer them over most new games. I feel most new games struggle with originality, as so many simply copy old games and make them worse with costly DLC’s. I miss when the first $60 was all that was needed for a good game.
