To all of u guys who are wondering why he is so hard to beat. The elastic band on earl race was very strong. players complained about it and it was nerfed in its later version . The oldest version of nfs had the hardest elastic band on this race and u could theoretically never win if he was ahead u after about 80-90 %

It only literally took me 2 tries to beat this guy! On the Sprint race, he was like 1,000+ miles away from me at the start when he kept crashing when he took the shortcuts, but when he's far away from you, next thing you know, he's catching up to you like Super Sonic, and at the end, he was ahead of me. But the second try, the same thing happened, but I went ahead of him and blocked him so I couldn't lose again. He was hard to beat tho.

Only took me one try to beat ronnie and razer as well, but Earl is the hardest for me, as i saved all money for the porsche Carrema GT later in the game. if you want to skip blacklist #9 Earl, after you defeat baron just click on the upper right corner of continue button "[ CONTINUE ]" (use mouse to click), then automatically you will get 2 markers from earl. Now the hardest part is you need more bounty for the next boss coz you skip all milestone and races events. it works in all bosses in the game except for blacklist #1 Razor.

I think i get it why everyone thinks that Earl's speedtrap race is amongst the easier race and then his sprint race was the hardest in the game. When you race him in speedtrap, you basically dont have to worry about you behind him. As long as you have a good control of your speed and keep maintaining your speed without sudden gear change or crashing, its a win. When you race him in sprint. This is a new problem. His car wasnt tuned so it get faster, but to make him catch his already speedy car when he do his manuvers, driftings, accelerating and others. His car was tuned for great acceleration and handling. On the top of that, he seem has quicker turbo boost so he can wrecks you in corners easily and backup from collision quicker as he suddenly chase you in tremendous speed. Edit: when i beat him, i use Supra which for me the best car to beat him because you can tune it pretty much same as his evo or even better

Baron's Porsche Cayman S was better than the Supra because Baron already upgraded his car to Super Pro. The difference is their speed. Baron's Cayman reaches 3 bars full while Earl's Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII is 2 and a half bars full.

: For me as PC user & PS2 user, it is very easy during the sprint. Yes, I know some of you guys can't beat him. Every corner right or left, he always speed with his evo ( my fav car ) while he still catching on you. Just use blacklist like baron & not need to upgrade performance. Only thing is adjust your tunning car. Everytime I beat all the blacklist, I always adjust the tunning my car. I didn't upgrade any car like lexus, evo, mustang etc because I collect my money until $1million without using cheat. When I facing Razor, I'm using my specialist evo 8 & upgrade performances. Its so easy to beat him. You know guys, his evo enjine is MVTEC very powerful turbo. He know that he always take down any cars like big blocks enjine. He's only guy to unlock Rockport City. I'm failling in love with Evo 8. I don't like the spoiler and body kits because that is not suitable for me. So I change it into stock spoiler and I change body kits into body 2 almost like Evo 9. Rims for me is BBS but I forget the model is.

To everyone who are struggling to beat Earl, you need to use Baron's Porsche Cayman in order to defeat him. The difference is their speed. Baron's Porsche Cayman is 3 bars full while Earl's Evo is 2 and a half bars full, this is the comparison of their car speed. Meaning, Baron's car is more faster than Earl. Adjust also your performance tuning and upgrade Baron's car in order to win the race. Always remember that Baron's car is really OP because of the handling and acceleration.

That catch up system is on roids whenever Earl is on the road. I understand why it's done. Earl stresses me out and the turn at 6:05 is the one I usually mess up because I end being too nervous and coming in too hot.

I remembered Vic's second race being difficult the first time through by being new and him having a better car. And despite going through my twelfth or so playthrough now, this race is still the hardest. The heat is always on after the boardwalk and white knuckle to the end
