you need to revisit this game bro. I used to love the game when I was a little kid but now I understand why everybody hates it. this does not hold a candle to any of the nfs games from previous years. the biggest thing I hate is the driving physics. the cars handle like they're always floating instead of being in the ground. and being fast in the game only revolves around how you use the nitrous. the acceleration of the cars are not unrealistically fast but the nitrous gives so much of a boost that some cars can't stay in their topspeeds without nitrous. and using nitrous while cornering makes you turn sharper.. for some reason. the AI of the game has even more rubberbanding than MW. they're real hard to beat in some races even for a really good driver. having to push the limits of the broken handling and nitrous physics resulting in a driving experience that the eyes of a regular person would barely keep up. MW has a bit of a realistic and enjoyable driving physics. UC has the opposite of it.

Everyone says Undercover is not good, but lets be honest, it was good in the racing area, you start one race, go to another. No dumb stuff or things to stop you from playing, also the city with the big interstate roads makes it even more fun. Good video

People shit on this games story but honestly it's pretty straight forward and you captured it perfectly. IMO it's a great game, just undercooked. Black Box was already folding under pressure from contradictictory rabid fan expectations and bullshit EA deadlines. So there is visible lack of polish and everyone jumps at the superficial missteps and doesn't give a damn about the very solid foundation that is no doubt here. 'WhAt'S sO VaLuAbLE iN a PDA!!!?' DATA, you DENSE MF-er. Information is power. And would have been obvious if they payed minimal attention instead of whining about superficial stuff. Chase is an undercover Triad agent, who infiltrates the FBI to smoke out some local car thieves who stole the data from his boss Chau and uses the situation to stage a coup against him. You are her handyman to do the dirty job then be disposed of with any other loose threads. Too bad you are a God-Tier driver and Best Girl Carmen pieces the shenanigans together so you can clear your name and take her down. See, straightforward with some basic twists as the mystery unfolds, fun stuff. F Carbon, this was the Most Wanted 2005 sequel. Same strong filter and atmosphere, but instead of Detroit inspired Rockport and grunge, we got CSI Miami vibes, and Mia's role from MW. Also loved the Gone in 60 seconds reference and the GOAT McLaren F1 returning after NFS went open world street racing. Sorry for shitting on it Carbon fans, but unlike Undercover I couldn't enjoy what could've been there. Console generation change and huge ambitions, Black Box had their hand full and fought admirably. But the criminally short end product just couldn't shine for me and ended up as the weakest NFS from that developer in my eyes.

Well, I'd pick Underground 2 over Undercover. But UG1... ehh, was a trailblazer in it's own time... layed foundations that the later games built upon. But as the game itself not part of the journey it doesn't stand the test of time anymore. Not here to pick a fight either, just sharing another perspective. And indeed Undercover is great and gets a lot of unjustified crap. My personal No.5 NFS of all time.
