These videos make it really apparent how much care and attention was put into the BlackBox era games. So clear to see how the designers actually cared about the game being fun. Not to mention that they listened to their customers and made the changes that they wanted to see, as well as experimenting with new things instead of sticking to a cookie-cutter design to push out a yearly slop purely for profit as many studios do these days.

No one talks about how cool the tunning aspect was of the game. Dyno tunning and live tunning was awsome. Im not sure of any other games doing that at the time.

BlackBox were actually passionate about their work and what resulted was the golden era of NfS. It's a shame EA hurried them to release a game every year, which eventually took its toll. Especially noticeable in NFS Carbon, which was too short.

I mean, I don't think it was that difficult to implement. The trunk doesn't seem to have physics as such, it probably recieves info from the suspension and toggles the open/close animation accordingly. It was probably a band-aid solution until they could come up with code for some actual physics for the trunk, doors and hood and they couldn't get it to release because of time or hardware constraints. I think a mod to bring this feature back as it was in the beta is doable.

I'm 3 years old in November 2004 all over again seeing NFS Underground 2 brings back memories and I played it one time on my cousin's PlayStation 2. True Story.

I just finished underground 2, and looking at what the game could've really been with the cut content is really cool.

As a PlayStation 2 player, I wish Underground 2 should've kept cabin neon I mean for the consoles that would be perfect especially new cars from Underground 1 and career mode should add tournament.

She's not cut. Kelly Brook is the girl that played Nikki from The Wraiths. The one that defects from them to join you in the later parts of the game.
