EA don’t make games, they are a publisher. And they weren’t that great back then either. EA only gave Black Box (the developers) a year to make each installment, so in the end, they could never reach their full potential, they’d always be unpolished in some areas and there’d be a lot of cut content and unrealized ideas. For example, Underground was supposed to have cops and car damage, Most Wanted had a cut airport and alpine area where it would snow, Carbon was supposed to have helicopters that would shoot EMP’s etc. All those games are great and it’s impressive what Black Box could achieve in just a year, but they could’ve been so much better. It was always just about the money for EA and they rushed these games out as fast as possible. It was also a different time, micro transactions didn’t exist and if they did, I’m sure EA would have also found ways to incorporate those tactics in their games.
