In this episode, we recommend an EV for a growing family whose top priority is safety, a viewer in need of more range than their Hyundai Ioniq 5, and a couple who love their Ford Mustang Mach-E, but want even more creature comforts.

Lucid would be a dream choice for the long range and efficiency for that I5 replacement. That would be my preference over the Mercedes. Tough call on the Mache replacement with the specifics mentioned.

I would always start your negotiations when buying a car online as you want to get that out the door price always be pre-financed only thing to negotiate is the outdoor price caredge or delivered are online resources that can help with purchasing a vehicle

Pure needs to be 2025 for heat pump in Minnesota or loses range advantage.

I am looking at getting my first EV. I have narrowed it down to either a 2025 Ioniq 5 Limited(really wish an N-Line trim was coming to the US) or a Mach-E Premium with AWD and the extended battery. Test drove both and liked them both. Any thoughts?

What about Porsche Macan EV for drives to Minnesota

The rear-drive Porsche Macan Electric would be great, but I think they should get AWD for winter driving up there. The dual motor Macan Electric starts just over their budget. - Domenick

All I do with my Audi e-tron is set the adaptive cruise on the car just takes care of the one pedal driving there is a manual but you have to use the paddles but the car has air suspension heat and cold seats massaging physical air vents 3 screens I absolutely love it and the good tow capacity

I love one-pedal driving, but I'd be ok if I had to dab the brakes to stop completely if it meant I was driving the Audi Q6 e-tron. 🙂 - Domenick

The lucid air pure is not 61 something because you only get the federal tax credit if you lease. And don’t forget taxes then to account someone’s budget, don’t try to compare it with starting prices on the cars.

The last case is tough-we have a 21 Mach E and when looking for a second EV, it has been impossible to find the same mix of features (even later Mach Es don’t have all the features of the early models) as our car. The mix of features listed by the email is hard to find even at higher prices. I wish them luck, but if I was them, I’d keep the Mach E a few more years until maybe something more feature-rich comes along.

If you have a garage get a Level 2 charger and charge at home. Much cheaper and more convenient than relying on DC fast chargers including Superchargers. The Ioniq 5 is fully capable of the road trips mentioned.

I am always skeptical of any Hyundai ICE power train. People I know have had engines and transmissions go. The Santa Fe has already had a recall on the transmission. I no issues with their EVs though.

The problem I have with the Lucid is the weird two tone stuff. I reminds me of those car companies that intentionally made their EVs look "weird" to keep them from taking too many sales from the profitable tailpipe cars. Just stop it.

All these people avoiding Tesla are gonna avoid using the supercharger network, right? That would also be giving Elon money
