Needle Felt Leaf Stab-Along - The Makerss HAPPY PLACE Live Stream

Sophie uses water soluble paper to make a thin, realistic needle felted leaf. You can apply this technique to create a whole range of leaves, petals, flowers, butterfly wings...and that's just to name a few ideas!
You can craft along if you like. You will need as a minimum of supplies:
Coloured wool batts in Dragon NZ Merino, orange, yellow & green (5-8g of wool in total to make 1-2 leaves)
water soluble paper (15 x 15cm piece per leaf)
coarse or medium felting needle
felting mat
small bowl of warm water and shallow bowl or cup
kitchen paper or towel
scissors
Optional: brush mat and 7 needle felting tool

I love this. I've been looking for a tutorial on felting paper. Can it be used for whole pictures like portraits and landscapes?

If you are looking to sketch out the design onto the paper and then to felt onto that then this would be possible but you would normally also need a felt sheet backing, and it would then be difficult to dissolve the paper when it is between the wool and the felt sheet. We would suggest trying a smaller piece of paper and felt sheet first, to see how it goes.
