Needle Felted Bumble Bee Tutorial

I am NOT a skilled needle felter but I had a bunch of requests for a tutorial after I made some cute fuzzy bumble bees. Who doesn't need a fuzzy woolly bumble bee?!?! Enjoy.

I've felted garden birds, ladybirds, butterflies and all sorts of fuzzy animals, but I've never thought to try a bumble bee. It looks like a fun project and as I have some transparent wings in my stash somewhere, I'm going to try one out. Great video.

Just great. The only thing i would do differently is have the wings about half a size smaller. Bumble bees have tiny wings in relation to their body and as a result it is a mystery how they get airborn.

I love it. Bees are my favorite insect they are adorable. I've a moon tattoo on my left hand in that exact same spot too but mine is a waning moon instead of a waxing. ♥️

I love these! I bought a felling needle a few years ago at Michael’s with some sample wool but never tried it. These would make gorgeous tree ornaments on Xmas packages. I would also like to try little Earth globes on purchased felt balls. Have you any advice? 🥰🐝🌎

I found that the black wool muddied the yellow and going back for touch up was pretty hard. I’ll send you my pic when his wings and legs are on. A bit more explanation on trimming would be nice too

Hi I am so glad I watched this tutorial. I'm trying to make a bumble bee brooch but have just got some wings from Hemmingway's and they are tiny but say XL. They are for fly fishing!!!! Can you tell me where to get the bee wings from, please?

Just beautiful!!!❤️🐝 Crazy question time, I've recently gotten into needle felting, what type of chair and table do you use? My neck aches and my legs fall asleep and I can't stay comfortable so it takes me a lot longer.

I usually work at an old kitchen table and sit on a plain wooden chair. I had a cushion for my tush, but I found it actually caused a pain in my back. I also make sure to get up frequently, make a tea, and give the legs a stretch.

I love this project and just ordered the wings from your shop. There are so many types of fibers and wool out there. Do you happen to know what kind of wool you used for black and yellow stripes? Im new to needle felting so still trying to wrap my head around the different types and not sure what kind to order.

I just bought a needle felting kit off of amazon that included a bunch of colours and needles. It's lasted me ages and wasn't a huge investment. Just make sure you're buying natural wool roving and you should be fine to felt with it.

They are wonderful! I will have to dig out my felting wools. I should like to try this and then onward to a moth or two possibly. On another note I have to use cc because my hearing is sucky. I want you to know that when you say your name at the beginning of the video it shows as Nicol bad Elena hahahahaha And the next time it may say something entirely different. Probably mischievous gnomes are doing this.. I have more fun with KZbin captions.

make the wings twice shorter, bees do not have conventional bird flight, they manage to flie with realy short wings
