I read that needle binding socks makes them "almost indestructible", so I had to see how that worked. Thank you for the great video. I'll have to watch it several times to understand how to even start the round. Thank you!

good, only thing I could suggest is it might be good to have close ups of what you are doing and exactly what loops/stitches you are picking up which I think might help beginners.

Maybe stupid question but what size of the needle for woolen yarn size 3 or 2? 😅 Where I would use 3.5 crotchet hook for stitches to be more tight (cause it's socks) ❤

hello! to make mittens, can I use this pattern, but instead of the heel make it for a thumb (like shown in the wrist warmers video) and then continuing to the wrist? Or should a mitten start at the bottom? thank you in advance :)
@valkyrjacom
@valkyrjacom 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Miana! Good idea, yes you could absolutely do that. Some people prefer to start at the top while others find it easier to determine the size when starting at the bottom, that's up to you. Good luck!

Thanks so much for these videos! They've been incredibly helpful in learning nålbinding so far. Thanks to your clear and concise instructions, I've almost finished my first mitten, and I'm bizarrely proud of it. Out of curiosity, is it possible to change stitches in the middle of a piece? For instance, could I start with the Oslo stitch, and transition to a Finnish 2+2 part-way through? I'm not sure why I'd want to do that, but I was wondering if it's possible. Thanks in advance!
@valkyrjacom
@valkyrjacom Жыл бұрын
Thank you! And congrats! I've never tried changing the stitch type in the middle of a piece, not sure how that would turn out though it should be possible. Maybe make a little test-piece with a couple of rounds of Oslo-stitch first to try it on, so that you won't risk ruining your work? ^^

I think i am being stupid, but can I ask what you mean by 'increase two loops on each round' for row 4 and 5? Does that mean increase two to every loop? I don't understand 🤦‍♀️ thank you for the video
@valkyrjacom
@valkyrjacom 2 жыл бұрын
Hi J B, no worries, I could have explained that more clearly! :) What I mean is that during the 4th and 5th rounds, you only increase two in total on round 4, and two in total on round 5.
@ViQueenKelly

If I want to make a size 42 would I make 12 starting stitches instead of 10?
@valkyrjacom
@valkyrjacom Жыл бұрын
Yes you can start with 12, and rather skip some of the increasing stitches if you see that it may become too wide for your foot. But it always depends on the type and thickness of the yarn you are using etc., so the sizing is definitely not an exact science!

@valkyrjacom
@valkyrjacom 2 жыл бұрын
I actually also prefer to start at the bottom/wide part when making hats (I made a video for that as well which I'll post if I ever find the time to edit it), but I think learning to do a round start is useful. However, if you don't like it, then I don't see any reason why you couldn't use this recipe backwards.

I really enjoyed your video. Thank you for making it. May I make a suggestion for a future videos? It would have been easier to see if you had been using dark yarn with a white background. The contrast would have made it easier to see what you were doing. I’m not trying to be overly critical. I really enjoyed your video.
