I used the paper patterns, made copies, enlarged sections, and colored them in. I am just starting to cross-stitch again after 20 years. I can't believe how many advances in technology and on-line support are now available. It is a little bit daunting. And the new patterns are beautiful but very complex. I don't really like the idea of a computer pattern program, but I admit the possibilities demonstrated are pretty amazing. Thank you for your helpful advice. I am learning a lot from watching your channel.

I am working on a project where some sections are 80 percent confetti stitches. It's very slow going. I get excited when I can use the same color for four or more stitches. The good news, if I have to remove stitches because of miscounting, I only need to remove one stitch. I wanted a challenge to test my skills. I have an Artecy pattern based on the artwork of Fuz Caforio. It may take me five years to finish it, but it will be beautiful when I do. I only like to cross stitch when I'm in the mood. I can stitch for hours on end, then not touch it for weeks

I like to call them creative amendments. I stitched green on my Alpaca’s face when it called for brown because the thread had been incorrectly labelled. I just made up a story in my head where he had been spit on by another Alpaca because he was cheeky. If a man on a galloping horse can’t see it, there is no way me or anyone else can when it’s on the wall. X

Hi Karen, love your videos and advise I am new to your channel, confetti stitching 😱I am sewing a Josephine Wall Spirit of Winter she is beautiful, but confetti stitch nightmare, I work with pattern keeper, the problem is I don,t trust my counting, so I fall into the trap of checking and checking again, I am 73 and have trouble concentrating, a lot of the time, however I have been sewing for a long time, but not full coverage, my main problem is ending all the threads never sure I am working on 25 ct gridded even weave, but pin stitch is quite difficult to do I find on even weave it’s probably just me, but I was wondering if you could be so kind to give me abit of advise on the best way to finish many thanks,Take Care Diane. I live in the UK. Merseyside. 😊

Karen, with all your full coverage charts which method limits the lines in a picture like what your stitching. Thank you

Any of the methods if you avoid a straight line. Feather the edges if going in columns or diagonal. Cross country if working in small areas feather.

I do the trick of covering a wrong color my personal plan is nobody looks at the pattern so how do they know it's wrong.
@NeedleBugg Жыл бұрын
absolutely the only one that knows is you and i would challenge you to find it when the piece is finished LOL cause I sure can't when I do it
@annebartells777 Жыл бұрын
So do I. I have framed pieces that I cannot find my wrong stitch. As long as it doesn't destroy the integrity of the piece, I leave it be.
