Hi Karen. Thanks for another wonderful hardanger video. I have had several ideas for hardanger designs, but it is a bit intimidating to try. I have a question. I notice that DMC only has a limited number of size 12 pearl cotton colors. Would I be able to use 2 strands of regular DMC floss for other colors? I believe you may have talked about it in another video. I apologize that I can't remember which one.

No problem Terry. I have used 1 strand of floss to wrap the bars. You could use 2 but i would suggest trying to keep them lying the same. We all know how one of the 2 can misbehave. Honestly i always tried to stay with the colors that had size 12. Good luck with your designs and i would love to see what youu come up with

@@NeedleBugg Thank you, Karen. That makes sense. I'll stick with the current colors for now and there are other brands I can explore later. I'll give one strand of regular DMC a try with some scrap fabric. I like using them up with a small practice and turn them into ornaments.

Hi Karen. Thanks for another great lesson. Can I ask you what scissors you use on 32 count. I’m having a heck of a time with finding the right scissors. The blades are all so thick. Thank you in advance. Your work is exquisite!!

Unfortunately the scissors i love are dovo and my understanding is they are no longer making embroidery scissors. I think mine are #45 if you can fine them. I would highly recommend Yvette Stanton’s site. She has an article on hardanger scissors and gives several recommendations. You are correct in wanting sharp scissors with thin blades. It is such a same about dovo. They had absolutely the best scissors.
@@NeedleBugg thank you so much. I have a lot of her books! Duh I should look in there! Have a great weekend!

If you have a photocopier, you could have enlarged the pattern, hats off for doing the math

Agreed. But I do think it important for people to know and understand the math. You don’t always have something to enlarge. Or your patterns do not always tell you the size for your fabric especially if you use a different count.
