1st time watching, was really enjoying the video until you got back around to starting point, I was then unable to see the stitches you were doing because the buttonhole chart was in the bottom right(my right)hand corner, lol! THANK YOU for sharing your talent!!

i think I know what you are looking for. If you message me I will make a short video for you on how to do it. normally with a buttonhole stitch you are inserting your needle at the bottom of the stitch coming out at the top on top of your working thread. with the one I am thinking you insert your needle at the top of the stitch, working thread behind the needle, come out at the bottom of the stitch, bring the working thread under the point of the needle and then pulll the loop to the top, I hope that makes sense if you need a video let me know, this way of doing the stitch does have a name but honestly I do not recall what it is

if you want to use this stitch for a piece of hardanger it will not be the same on both sides because you will be doing it before you cut the piece out, it works best if you can fold the fabric and work right on the edge.. then will be the same on both sides. I do not know any other buttonhole or blanket stitches that would be what you are looking for to use on hardanger. it can be used for your hardanger pieces and does give it a much sturdier edge.
