If I trusted God was all I needed, then I would stop focusing so much doing these secular activities/hobbies that take away time from the lord. I believe that as long as I pray and know God’s my portion then he will become my “hobby” and I can seek him for the fullness I seek in hobbies.

Yes it’s not easy to seek God , but it is what we need to do , we need him he doesn’t need us but he decided to be in relationship with us …. I desire the Lord so much and I hate my flesh and how it is distracted by the world The Lord is my portion

Use your time and talents (that God has graciously given you) to make His glory and presence known! Sometimes that takes place in the community of others doing a secular thing (going to a baseball game, playing video games/sports, etc). God gives us opportunities to go out and be the Church and make Him known wherever we go. We must ask the Holy Spirit to guide our steps and to give us discernment when it comes to when and where we go, and how we are to treat others when we get there. I was led to Christ by some friends I made through an ultimate frisbee group back in 2020. If we can be a part of (or start) groups that can simultaneously be fellowship and outreach opportunities, we need to be involved in them (or start them). I'd love to encourage you to think of the places God has already put you (your workplace, favorite stores/restaurants, and places you go on a regular basis) and think of the talents God has given you and look at them ways to serve others (both as a someone capable of discipling and sharing the gospel with others). God takes what the enemy meant for evil and turns it for good. God can take what was once our distraction and turn it into our mission field. He turns graves into gardens. He turns our messes into messages. He turns sinners into saints. He brings the dead to life.

@@liamcrittenden Thank you so much for your response! I used to skate every day (im talking 7 days a weeks for a minimum of 5 hours…a lot) it was my main focus. Along with skating I hung out with bad influences watched bad entertainment and overall just did bad things. A few days before church camp I was trying to tre flip a five stair and ended up rolling both ankles and I stopped skating for about 2 months. Over time I slowly begin to lose that flame I once had and I went to church camp, got saved, and I started replacing skating time with godly things. I’ve truly come a long way and I never mentioned that I have gone out to the skate park again and preached the gospel to people there and given out gospel tracts to some. I guess I had kind of forgot about the good that I got out of it. It reminds me of when Joseph told his brothers “you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good” Even though I was doing bad things in the past with skating, God now gives me better opportunities with it. I remember Alex said “whatever you give to God, he’ll replace it with something better” I can truly see that now thanks for the comment!

Yes! Check out the songs "be. loved" by JUDAH and "Heretic" by Gable Price and Friends. Both of the songs are by Christian artists that are theologically sound! Both the songs dive into the idea of God making our minds new, through us asking Him to: - 1) increase our ability to be loved by Him (if we feel as through we are incapable of being loved by Him, when John 3:16 tells us a different story) -2 ) offend our minds so that we may know Him more (AKA a call for Him to convict us of our sins so that we may repent and turn from our old ways and turn to Him as our help, strength, shepherd, keeper, provider, protector, etc).

If I fully trusted God was all I needed, I wouldn't be so quick to condemn myself when I sin, I would embrace the promises of God and trust that he has already redeemed me and that when I walk I can walk in freedom and truth, covered and wash by his blood, changed and changing still.

Hi person reading this. Heyyy. How you doing? I just had to tell you that you're not an accident. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You were created on purpose. Everything in your life was already written. God already knows everything that you will deal with, struggle with and so on. You are not your mistakes. You don't have to try to live for other people's approval. You are loved already. God loves you. You are not your resume. Your worth is not defined by your beauty, or any other thing you can bring to the table. This may be hard to hear but it's freeing. You are not enough. You can stop trying to be enough. God is already enough for you. Let him be your strength. He can accomplish great things through you. Find your identity in him, and let your resume bring God glory instead.

Thanks for this beautiful episode. This series on Psalm 119 has been really encouraging on loving God and his word. I have a doubt, are you guys going to add subtitles in spanish anytime soon? I´m from Tijuana, Mexico and I´ve recommending your podcasts to my local church friends but not many speak English so it would be amazing if you could add them. If it is possble I woul love to help you with the translation, I don´t consider myself a super translator but I think I could make it with Google´s help XD. But anyways thaks for your service, and all the glory to God.

jesus says you cant worship 2 gods (the 2 gods being God himself and the other one being money). so as long as you arent worshipping money and putting it above God and have a healthy mindset with the money you receive (aka being humble and not becoming those type of people that just want money and nothing else) i think its okay to try and live a financially stable life. that being said.... God is always 1st. amen.
