Rick, I sense something beautiful coming out of your heart as you do these interviews that is ever more loving, tender and affectionate. There is a beauty emerging, an exquisiteness I have honour in all my brother. Just felt like mentioning.

Of course there is a deepening in the experience which depends on the purity of mind. The consciousness is always the same but the experience we have depends on the purity of mind. While the mind changes we experience more deeply and clearly our Self and without distractions.

Thank you Rick, thank you Neelam. I felt like responding because what I hear is that in your intrigue you're asking clarification in terms of your experience in terms of relating to 'god', 'consciousness', 'the field' or 'the universe' - You use various phrases, like being not isolated 'from it', that presence 'responds' (to you) or of being 'immersed in' it. But all point to the idea of trying to figure out what 'it' is, whereas 'it' is who you are. "it' is you; you respond to you- and the physical world merely reflects that fact back to you. You are immersed in it at all times, for it is you who emits all; or to put it even stronger; you are the only reality that truly Is. Maybe that helps, for once the understanding has 'clicked' that we never have been separate from God, consciousness, or the universe and all things in it, at all, the question of (it) responding (to you), of being 'immersed 'in it' , or of having to find a way to not be 'isolated from' (it), simply will not arise again. For it is but an idea of the imagination that we've ever been separate at all. And Neelam puts it beautifully when she says that once it has clicked, there is no longer the need to understand anything else at all.

Hello Rick. You say that you perceives things appear in your consciousness or presence but you do not experience that you are these things. What you say is clear and correct These two situations are two different things. Very few beings on earth may have this capacity viz. To perceive everything as their own Self while functioning in the world, while they are not in a deep samadhi or a transcendental experience.
@DietrichLasa9 жыл бұрын
+AeonTv The issue may be the term 'own Self' or 'Beings.' What functions in the world is the mind-body that appears and functions from moment to moment, appearing and disappearing simultaneously. That appearing of functioning is not covering the term 'Self' (if you use it as a label for the awareness of non-identification with a separate sense of 'me'). The Self is the knowing that all expressions arise in This as This in the shape of fleeting appearances. There is no issue with 'functioning in the world.' The functioning in the world is arising within that same sense of unboundedness, be the functioning in the form of washing dishes or in the form of doing some satsang.

There seem to be two slightly different perspectives of why the universe manifests as form expressed in this fine interview, on the one hand, to evolve & know itself, dance as Lila, & on the other, because of tendencies/ delusions of separation/ vasanas that need to be cleared/ resolved. They are probably two sides of a coin which can be integrated, but it is interesting as the former seems creative/ celebratory while the latter seems therapeutic/ cleansing/ purifying.

I liked this interview; may be in my top 20. But I’m tired of hearing people complain that spiritual teachers are making money. That’s impoverished thinking. Most people that work want to get paid. I think every teacher who is helping people actually wake up should be millionaires, not that it would be important to them, but might help them spread the word. And I know teachers who are very generous. Many of the guests on BATGAP actually started out with nothing and encountered many hardships on their path. To judge someone without knowing their whole story it very short sighted. If you are one who thinks the business aspect of spirituality is somehow wrong, ask yourself if you were making as much money as some high paid spiritual teacher what would you be willing to do for it? Wouldn’t you prefer to do something you enjoy and are good at. The free market determines what people will pay. And even Jesus held his hand out for donations. So what are you basing your discrimination on? You think the “real” teachers are living in poverty, giving all their time and effort away for free? Some may be, but it’s probably not their first choice except for those teaching by example like Mother Theresa. Also, people tend to devalue things that are free, as in “you get what you pay for”. Numerous studies have borne this out. Besides, most of the teachings discussed are available for free, (visit the library or search the web) as are the interviews. But if you want to do a retreat or get private instruction, that’s on you. Instead of nattering why not just listen for some wisdom and if there isn’t any, go elsewhere. Makes sense to me. But the ego loves to natter. Hmmm ... I’d better sign off. : )

Disappointing, I visited the web site and it's littered with words like 'suggested donations' etc. we are loosing the whole point, this is not about business, it's not a 'transaction' Why does the money even figure in this?? Shameful

Totally agree, I raised this issue with Sharon Landrith a few weeks ago and she refused to give anything resembling a polite or convincing reply. I'm sick of these greedhead booksellers, they aren't BATGAPs! Several commenters have raised this issue lately, how about a response BuddhaAtTheGasPump ?

Hi, Im Valio from Bulgaria. I was very much into these batgap interviews and i loved watching Rick and his guests and i really thought that this is the truth but i am not so sure about that anymore. I will share some of my thoughts and i hope that it would be helpful. 1. The world is ilusion - God is real and the material world is representation of God so the world and all the objects are real. But if you are a weak person it's very convenient for you to live according this statemant because you dont want to be responsible for your actions and it's too painful for you to live in that world. That's why most of the people that are into these teachings including the teachers are very sensitive men and women with traumatic childhood and constant feeling that somehow they don't fit. And the next step is - Be nothing. It's too painful for you to be a person - to be something so you decide to destroy your ego. But that is the most egoistic act and you are killing your humaness. You are trying to become impersonal God by destroying your soul and personal features. Satan wanted to be like God and he is suffering about this . 2.There is not Good and Evil - Every little child would say that this world is dual. But with saying that it is all one and the world is non-dual you are denying the evil and the devil and that is what satan wants. 3.No suffering, more joy - It's very hypocritical to say that suffering is pointless and not necessary. When we suffer we become stronger persons. That's why all of the saints made themselves suffer on purpose so they can reach God easily. The way to God is painful. One of these buddha teachers says that we are impersonal Gods, ecstatic beings and that our purpose is to receive more joy from our higher perspective - the Absolute. But God is perfect, absolute love and he doesn't need more joy or something else. I know it's very encouraging and seducing to believe that you are God, you are the One and you just have to wake up and realize it but i don't believe that is true. The painful truth is that we are all human beings. We are all sinners and we were redeemed with the blood of the Lord - Jesus Christ. He is immortal and only by believing in him we can have eternal life. We have to work hard, repent and cry for mercy all the time.

Hey Rick, before I even check what this video is about, I think it is generally time to rethink the naivety with which you believe and routinely reproduce politicially correct propaganda. Here's one of the greatest authorities on climate change on the planet (and I could list names...): judithcurry.com/2014/05/03/lennart-bengtsson-speaks-out/ I am not asking you to switch sides, just to free your interviews from biased political propaganda. Thanks !

BuddhaAtTheGasPump Do you accept the existence of Spirit - Source - God, or is your KZbin name an indication that you don't believe or interview anyone who does believe in God? Just curious.

Reverend Eslam Well, first of all Pantheism denies the Person of God. I happen to believe in and accept that God is both transcendent AND personal. All that is comes from One Source. Nothing that exists is separate from this Source. If, indeed, there is "separation", it is in the sense that we have forgotten our "oneness" and have yet to discover that we are not and never have been separate. Yes we are an individual manifestation of God. The One manifests as Many and the Many journey back to the knowledge of the One.
@BeHisLikeness10 жыл бұрын
Reverend Eslam The word is Pantheist not panentheist. There is no such word as "panentheist". And no, I am not a "Pantheist" either. A Pantheist does not believe in the Personhood of God (Source). I do.
@BeHisLikeness10 жыл бұрын
Reverend Eslam Hmmm.. ok, there is a belief called Panentheism... but it still does not cover what I believe. So I am neither a Pantheist nor a Panentheist... Maybe I'm closer to being a Panentheist that the other, but it still is not exactly what I believe. Thanks.

I would guess this as *a 1.5 - 2 on the -4 to +4 scale* where anything below and including +1 is by and large a waste of time, and anything below 0 is not only worthless but damaging to the world. For comparison, on that scale, Francis Bennett would be a +3 or so and Harri Aalto would be roughly a tentative +3-3.5. Not coming up with original, independent cosmological insights ban any interviewee from > 3.0 ratings as a matter of principle. She seems unpretentious and the interview fulfills the stated purpose of the channel. A bit boring in this case since she mostly does the standard satsang rap and it is impossible to tell from the distance if she is really there or has just caught the drift. The lack of originality in her language makes this hard to tell. Whatever her qualities, she is not a word master, and she habitually uses senseless void-filling americanisms (e.g. "right" completes almost every other sentence totally meaninglessly, usually a sign of a highly habitual state of mind). *General Disclaimer:* the rating _pertains to an interview, not to the interviewee_. If the rating is high it means merely and exclusively that I consider the interview to be of high value relative to the stated purpose of the channel, and that it is therefore no waste of time to listen to the interview. It would _not_ imply that whatever the interviewee speaks is the truth (as if I was the arbiter over that) or that you should follow him/her or accept whatever that person offers. _That is particularly in need of emphasis if that would be an expensive enterprise_ !
