The neermahal (meaning "Water Palace") is a former #royalpalace built by Maharaja of tripura Kingdom #Birbikramkishore manikya debarma of the erstwhile Kingdom of Tripura. It is situated in Melaghar, 62 kilometers away from agartala Airport. The palace is situated in the middle of Rudrasagarlake and assimilates Hindu architecturalstyle.
The palace is divided into two parts. The western side of the palace is known as andarmahal. It was made for the royal family. The eastern side is an open-air theatre where drama, theatre, dance and other cultural events were organized for the enjoyment of Maharajas and their royal families. The palace has 24 rooms in total. The palace is the largest of its kind in India and the only one in Eastern India. It is so huge, it cannot be fit into a single picture frame on the standard camera until you are at a distance of approximately 800 metres from the entrance. There are only two water palaces in India, the other one being the #jalmahal in Rajasthan.

one of the most popular destinations in Eastern India that deserves a visit. Its extraordinary architecture and beautiful layouts will mesmerise you. It took around nine years to build this palace that has 24 rooms inside. The eastern side of the palace has an open air theatre, which hosts cultural and public events, whereas the western side is for the royal family to reside. There are proper provisions for servants too. The water palace has beautiful gardens, fountains, and courtyard too, thereby creating the perfect ambience for some peaceful time. The exquisite architectural designs and the watery ambience of this area is such a marvellous combination that infuses curiosity among the visitors.
