@DrMercurySpotlight MBBS is the foundational and most important degree in medicine. MD/MS courses are specializations in particular subjects. Therefore, MBBS and MD/MS can be considered at the same level when it comes to general medicine. Those who completed MBBS in the same year are generally viewed as being on the same level, irrespective of their later specializations. However, the experience gap created by pursuing MBBS compared to MD/MS sometimes leads to feelings of inferiority among MBBS graduates when compared to MD/MS holders. The work of an anesthetist may occasionally appear similar to that of a nursing officer, just as female doctors are sometimes mistaken for nurses by patients in hospitals. This misunderstanding often highlights the need for better public awareness. India’s low literacy rate contributes to these misconceptions. People need to be more educated to understand the differences and respect the roles of healthcare professionals appropriately.

I hope Anaesthesiology don't get hyped like Radio , cuz Anaesthesiology unlike radio is very much a risky branch . Anything an Anaesthesiologist does is risk . Regardless of your higher rank , not everyone would make a good Anaesthesiologist. Aspirations should rather be thinking of what they like , by actively shadowing a specialist of your choice.

4 years back my ortho hod had predicted that the trend of toppers taking radio will fall within next 10 years. He wasnt even talking about AI taking over radio, but about how it is an overhyped branch, but dependent on other specialities. I feel like his prediction is gonna come true soon

Even faculties are divided on " will AI replace Radiologists or not? " The answer has to be somewhere in middle. Maybe AI will enhance the productivity so well that more and more modalities will be taken 2nd opinion by radiologists. Maybe radiology won't be the top choice in future.

Ma'am radio is supersaturated in Bangalore 3 yrs back radio people were getting paid more than 2.5 lakh but now they get paid only1.3 lakh when i researched after neet pg results.ond of my senior working for 1.3 lakh and my cousin got job in jss mysore as an sr in radiology he gets paid only 80 k .i got radio in a private clg in round 1 but after i researched i took general medicine in 2 nd round.main reason for this is private clgs has spoiled this branch by increasing seat drastically for money and my ug clg kiims bangalore had only 2 radio seats 4 yrs back but now they are having 18 radio seats 🙆‍♂️ and there are more than 25 private clgs in Karnataka and every clg has increased seats too many for radio and decreased the demand for radio in the market😢

With state sponsorship, I had the option to choose MD (PMR, Anaesthesiology, Transfusion Medicine), MS (General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology), or other non-clinical MD courses. However, I opted for DMRD (Diploma in Radiodiagnosis) due to my strong inclination toward radiodiagnosis and radiation oncology, even though I couldn’t secure a rank high enough for MD in those branches. I hope this decision is not a mistake or a misstep in my career

All of this bs. Anaethsia is dependent on surgeon. Whereas radio is hetting replaced by ai very quickly. Leaving only intra radio which most patients go to surgeon first who do it themself. Scope is limited im foreign too. Fo what you like and your circumstances

Radiology is a dependant branchon the other branches . Most of the doctors like surgeons and OBGs do ultrasound on their own , taking radiology perhaps is a mistake. Toppers take it as they think they will make a lot of money , which is again not true .surgeons and super specialist medicine earn way way more radiology is gonna be the choice of last tankers in the future .

However with surgical branches you won’t be able to move outside of India . Internal Medicine , Pediatrics , Psych , Anaesthesia , Pathology , Radiology etc have demands outside of India . If you take surgery you are locked to India for life which I think you should avoid . India isn’t a good place to have kids . Idea should be to get trained and leave the country for good .

Wrong dead wrong my friend. Radio, derma are the worst line to get in foreign. Meaning USA. Medicine peds are easy to get cause there lot of donkey work in it. Ans dont think USA is a better place than here. You will face same problems . Corruption, nepo, reservation. Yes they have reservation. Inflatiom. And mostly no family, no maids, no gardner. Only good thing of USA is police is somewhat good there. The whole world right now is in such a situation that all country are equal and atbsame place in terms of problems. Also if you think your relatives will help you in foreign yeah they won't. Mostly use you as a slave. Be careful and in the end your choice. I myself wanna go USA. But my thinking is different. I hate medicine. Peds. I love surgery. And currently in ortho. Did you know there Acceralared program just for ime like us in ortho there?. Also aus, new Zealand dubai have same stuff. It's difficult but rewarding. Cause if anything dosent work out in USA. Cause not all parents are rich or have connection there. You can still be rich and king in India.

Its about the work life balance, branch has nothing to do with how much money you make . Have seen mbbs grads earning crores per annum and cardio grads struggling. Radio is an excellent branch if you want 9 to 5 job and relaxed lifestyle
