No sir drilling a hole through a tree will not kill a tree. Many tree houses are built by drilling holes through their trunks. Infact at times wires are also inserted through the holes to support the tree. I have not seen a tree dying if a hole is created...😊

It depends upon the size of drilled hole and also on the xylem components being damaged.Thus plant surely will survive by uding other water colums that persists.but if the hole damages all the xylem columns than surely plant will die but it is rare.hence survival chances are far more

Histogen theory is overkill for NEET, not needed. Following NCERT is the new norm. It was taught in the coaching classes only for AIIMS.
