You're so right on this, here's a spill tea from my side: From some well known sources I recently got to know about some instances that happened between Alia and Ranbir during the Ambani wedding event. Alia looked completely obsessed over him and not in a healthy way. She was a bit clingy as in a way that it would irritate anyone who would be clinged on, here, Ranbir. Henceforth he seemed irritated and annoyed whenever Alia was besides her on the event. They might be in a good relationship but it's not out of the way to consider that this all bullshit is manipulated by Nitu Kapoor. As she was also traumatized and harassed in her relationship.
