Bought a blue MT07 in 2019, fitted a full exhaust system, brake pads, tail tidy, removed rear pegs and was dead easy to do on my drive. Upgraded headlight to LED, bought a private plate, really enjoyed riding it and then stupidly PXd it for a 2000 Triumph Thunderbird Sport: talk about chalk and cheese. Wish I’d kept it as the mods made it feel mine more than any other bike I’ve had. Good episode Neevesy 👍🏻

The MT07 was the bike that got me back on 2 wheels after a little break. I didn't end up buying one myself but it was riding a friend's bike that showed me how fun they were!

Hi Neevsey, your videos are a gem to me. You know most bikes inside out and yet you’re humble and graceful instead of a big ego like most amateur “influencers” Keep it on. No question today, sorry. Just that praise because I just watched your laterite video and loved it. I did put a question sometime before, but it was probably a bad one, cause you didn’t pick it. So when I have a better one I’ll definitely ask you again.

I've kept my 2015 mt07 that i bought new for £5800 (with the akra exhaust), even though I've since acquired an s1000r and tuono v4. It's just such a fun bike i couldn't sell it! I toured the nc500 on it this year and it was perfect loaded with camping gear.

Great episode. I learnt to ride 3 years ago on an MT-07 and now I have the latest gen MT-10SP (as well as a K67 track bike). I still have very fond memories of the MT-07. It had no pretensions and was just a fun, simple bike.

Interesting video as ever. A modern classic that seems to have saved Yamaha's bacon. It also wouldn't take much to make the MT07 top dog again either. Add about 60- 100cc, better forks & hopefully some nicer looks too & it's a guaranteed success.

When I was first getting into riding January 2020 I liked the MT-07 and eventually got to try a 2018 model & tried a 2003 Aprilia RSV Mille shortly after (looking for my second bike) I rode the mt07 for a whole weekend and enjoyed it but to be honest the aprilia was more powerful and handled 10x better so I was sold lol only had 1100 miles on it and was #22 ever made for the last year what a steal! Put over 20,000 miles on that bike before selling it (should have never sold it)

another great content.. you never disappoint in bringing up great topics and reviews.. I've just finished watching your MCN review with the M1000RR and that bike is bonkers, I mean BMW went full bananas on the aero package, even the front wheels have carbon fiber covers.. I just want to ask: with the current superbikes in the market right now do you think the 2023 S1000RR base model is the better bike out of the box? or there are other bikes that are better? thanks and more power to your channel

As always great video and keep them coming, i searched the internet and can’t find any MCN reviews of Ducati 2000 996 SPS as a happy owner I wanted to know what was your thoughts and did MCN get a chance to ride it. Lots about 916 and all it’s variants, but not much on 996, could this be due to similarities between the models. Thanks again Adam

You make the most interesting videos about bikes on the web. The fact that you "only" have 13k subscribers is to me only a reflection on the general public's lack of interest in bikes. Why do you think this is? When my brother & I were kids in the 70's / 80's we would stop & look at every bike we heard coming by, today kids don't even look up.

Hi Michael, thanks for the channel and sharing your years of experience with us, please can you help me., I have a multi v4 despite having stylemas on the front the brakes don’t have a huge amount of bite , the thinking is that in the multi maybe a different pad material is used compared to the panigale for instance.. despite it being an ( adventure bike) I’d like more bite.. in one of your recent videos you did mention what in your opinion were a really good pads but I can’t remember or find the video containing the information, please can you do a quick recap .. I want to say sbs sintered from memory but I may be wrong , also the rear is totally abysmal but most Italian bikes I have owned are equally as lack lustre so I’d be looking to change the full set. Thankyou , Geoff

Excellent vlog, thanks. I had an online subscription for the MCN. It's good for phones and tablets, but hopeless for computers - you can't read in magazine format. This is a sad oversight and made be end my sub. Ironically, the other week, the MCN had an electric bike supplement that was perfect for computers. I really don't understand why this can't be addressed. I loathe reading stuff on phones and I don't see the point of tablets, in general, that is. I queried this with customer services, but got no response. Sad really.

Once again congratulations for a great job! It's a pleasure listening what you have to say. One question, I have been acquiring all the equipment to start going to the track. At this moment the major decision I have to make is if I start with my cbr 1000rr r sp (and problably ruin it) or if I buy my dream bike as a teenager, a cbr 600rr (will be sold again in Europe next year) and start with that... Do you have a opinion? Any additional advice would be much appreciated! Thank you

G’day Neevesy from Downunder. Your recommendation to use Metzeler Roadtec 01 SEs on my CB650F (via Twitter) was great advice. I’m very happy with their performance over the 1st 6000 kms. What can you teach me about rev matching? Is it a good technique?

I'd have bought the XSR700 even without Neevesy, glad I did - but the 900 was the one, especially the Moto Velocity (Hag Hughes) 900LC. Back in the day though, the MT-07 was a game changer, lot of fun to be had, spiritual successor to the RD350LC

Interesting viewing especially as I was off bikes at this time so missed all the fun. As a former 350LC rider that would have caught my attention. Got a question you might address next time. I am about to take delivery of my first brand new bike in over 20 years!! I noticed that the running in time is down from the old 1,000 miles to about 600 hundred. As a pedant about such things I always did it to the letter and wondered what your take on the matter is?
@MrDeepseadweller
@MrDeepseadweller Жыл бұрын
All of this stuff is arbitrary. There are so many other variables, the number of miles is only one factor and is just a guide. They probably went with 600 miles because it’s close to 1,000km which is a nice round number is other countries.

I finished my a2 license today (I'm 21 and in Germany) I personally went for a Hypermotard 1100 evo sp. Because too many of my friends already have mt07s and I wanted something different. But it would have definitely been the sensible choice 😅

I don't think that starting on the Hyper would ruin any other bikes for me, I currently have it restricted to 48hp so it is not the fastest thing in the world and it is also a very different riding experience to any other bike that I've ridden. I definitely want to add a sports bike to the collection, I am currently thinking along the lines of an old zxr 400 or similar.@@MrDeepseadweller

Honda seems to have stepped up to the plate (ironic.....the conservative Honda) and challenge the value of the MT-07 with their CB750, which really isn't the same category in terms of displacement and power numbers, but it is a similar category in terms of physical motorcycle size and COST. We'll have to see what Yamaha does in the coming several years with the MT-07 in terms of pricing, and if Honda is able to keep their aggressive pricing for the CB750. I believe Yamaha doesn't have a direct comparison for the CB750 as the MT-07 and MT-09 sort of bookend it.

It's a shame that the MT09 is remembered for it's gen 1 & 2 handling issues, when the gen 3 is a much better bike. The MT07 has really cemented itself as one of the great middleweight nakeds.

The MT-07's reputation outsizes the bike tbh. If you bought one brand new at release it will barely have depreciated to date. It's a fun bike but not materially that different from an SV650 and they definitely have depreciated!
