This MS-150B has 2x power than the smaller MS-60B. The electrical specifications are; 120 to 240 VAC, 50 / 60 Hz 19.6 VDC at 8 A for 130W light power. The output cable from the power adapter supplies 8A to the light; that is too much for a small seccion 1 m cable. Have you tested the temperature in the power adapter, cables, connector and body, at full power after 1 hour?

To be honest, I have not used it on mains since my unboxing . . . I primarily use it on the battery pack . . . its just less wires lying around in a small studio space, so I cant confirm any heating issues with the power bank or cables

So far so good . . . Ive only shot a wedding reception so far, but have a 70th birthday with interviews, and a sports promo video lined up in the near future that should provide a better scope of what they can do. but so far Im very impressed . . . even the photographer at the wedding loved the quality of light that I got out of them for his reception stills and family group portraits . . . Still waiting for a decent opportunity to maximise their functionality . . .but at the link below is the wedding with related reception that I used the MS150B's at. I used them with the native reflector and the power output was more than sufficient . . . the stills photographer also appreciated them and commented how much he liked the lights since his bounced flash wasnt working at the rooftop venue with black walls and ceilings. You will also catch a glimpse of the BH-20RGB-2.4G LED Stick light in use to light the DJ . . . it was simply laid on the table in front of him . . . under lighting isnt the most flattering, but it was a quick action to catch the moment . . . it doesnt look too bad as the lighting can be mistaken as light coming from his control panel / laptop, so the underlighting somewhat fits the scene in this scenario kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGjEgKGBg8eYd7ssi=c5u3-QDG76TlEBwU

The results with batteries that you indicate at 23:10 of the video are difficult to believe. The lamp consumes at least 120W at 100%. The NP-F970 batteries deliver 7800mAh at 7.2V, that is (56W in 1 hour), and being 2 batteries (2x56W= 112W). It is not possible for them to last 2.85 hours at 100%. They would only last those 2.85 hours at 40% power.

Im not a mathematician, or a scientist . . . Im simply an end user . . . and I charged the batteries (brand new, first time use), installed them, switched on the lights at 100% output and left them to run while I caught up on some editing . . . they turned off by themselves 2hours and 48minutes later . . . it is what it is 🤷‍♀

@@tgvphoto523 @biogons14 You're actually both correct - which seems insane at first glance. It turns out the lights are limited to 44w when on battery mode. so 100% becomes 44w (instead of 130w when plugged in)

@@davekandotcom That would explain alot . . . I wonder why Neewer doesnt indicate this on the specs . . . seems like quite an important detail. I did express during my video that they just dont seem as visually bright as the Zhyun X100's despite their rating being higher on paper. Thank you for pointing that out, it makes sense that this would be the reason for it

@@tgvphoto523 I guess all companies hide their achilles heel specs whenever possible. In this case, there are silver linings to the lower output cap in battery mode - all lights are more efficient at lower outputs (ie more 'lumens' for each 'watt hour' used), and lower power draw helps prolong battery lifespan. All said and done, the design of the light and handle with simple battery adaptor is an excellent feature, and I'd be willing to wager that 44w mode is only about 1-stop less light than 130w mode. Would be interested to know if you can confirm the actual brightness difference by comparing shutter speeds for example.

@@davekandotcom Ive just checked again . . . the official specifications claim "Maximum Illuminance (with standard Reflector): 200 000 lux @ 0.5m" . . . with a simple light meter phone app, Im getting the following readings on Mains power: 48 188 lux @ 0.5m, and on Battery power: 28 430 lux @ 0.5m Neither is anything remotely near what they claim . . . so now i wonder how accurate the Zhiyun Molus specs are to real world application. That said, i just took a reading off of my mains powered "china mall" 200W LED Floodlights and they only read at 23 345 lux @ 0.5m . . . so its still impressive for a mere 130W
