Since my character is much more of a realistic style I love the fact these wings aren't just those small cartoony wings (although those kind are cute it just doesn't fit the kind of style I want) I love all the detail and if/when I make a full fursuit I'll definitely try doing something like this!

Sewing tip: Clip your curves and you will have a MUCH easier time with getting curves to lay flat. Clipping a curve, is making little slits in the seam allowance perpendicular to the seam around a curve, so the fabric lays flatter.

I think I saw a bug wing method for dolls on a video a few months ago but I'm not sure how it would be translated to a larger scale. The person took wire to make the wing shape then used special thin plastic to make the membranes. I believe it was a Dollightful video.

If ur looking for non transparent then perhaps a back and magnets to attach it add straps to the back then take cardboard(maybe) and cut it in the right shape and attach iridescent (or whatever you prefer) fabric to it and you can wear any normal shirt, then the straps and back then a thinner shirt and use magnets but it might fall off, i don’t do this though it’s just an idea

You can wear ears,tail, and even make custom wings with a adjustable shoulder strap so you can wear it when you are older... Then you can get a partial fursuit later on so that you can still be able to use your wings with it... I'm hoping to get wings but I don't know what type of materials I want to use. I want all black angel style wings so that I can have a angel wolf. I have the ears and tail I need already and I also want to get white wings for my bunny costume. I made bunny ears, a bunny tail, and bunny fingerless gloves then I'll eventually get wings I can wear with it... Being a kid friendly furry that can sew helped me be able to have some of the furry stuff I own... Also if you can't sew you can always find some family member, friend, friend's family member, or someone else you know that can sew to help you make them...

They're really cute! Tip for glueing down elastic; sew a piece of non-stretchy fabric on the designated centimeters of elastic first, before glueing it down. That way the elastic can't ever pull itself loose. ♥

You can always just find a replacement for the skeleton or go to a craft store... I want to make wings that are super Fluffy using fluffy fur fabric for it so that it'll look more like white feathers. Fur fabric can look like feathers and I think that they would most likely look like feathers on a baby bird... I might have to get someone to help me make these wings...

I noticed when you were sewing the minky for the wings, the feathers often would go in all directions making it hard to sew straight. I recommend using a walking foot which prevents A LOT of slipping of the minky. It helps a lot for me and saves a ton of pinning time. Just a quick tip! ^w^

I’m a new maker working on my first digitigrade angel dragon suit and these wings look so good! I’m also glad to see we’re using the same sewing machine so I know mine should be able to handle sewing through foam as that seems a bit intimidating and I haven’t quite mastered using my machine yet. Thank you for making this as if it weren’t for tutorials like this I think becoming a maker would’ve been almost impossible and taken years longer to figure things out lol.

14:05 this is a similar technique used in pottery. You scratch up the side of your piece that you want to stick to another part. You rub slip (watered down clay) on the scratched parts and stick them together. The slip acts as a glue, and the scratches give it extra security.

Seeing this now for the first time. Enjoyable to watch. Watched another and you mentioned in both to not make tight corners because when you flip it will distort the seam and be too tight. Sorry if you already know this now but on areas like that you can just trim the fabric to the seam on curves or corners and it won't do that.

Funniest thing, I was looking around for a wing tutorial like this just yesterday! I'm wondering whether it would be possible and what you think it would take to have the straps underneath the wearer's shirt and to attach the wings by a strong magnet. You could probably cut slits in a shirt, and thread the elastic through them before you finish it off. I've never made anything like this, but it seems like that would be the easiest.

Thinking about making a large fabric wing based on my wings dimensions so I can slide the sewn fabric cover of sorts over it, it seems like it'd be much more neat than what I have, which is just hot glued fabric at the moment
