When I was eight I knew I wanted to be a surgeon. I was a special-ed student with a severe speech impediment but I didn't care. I needed to become a surgeon. I would spend hours studying information that majority of ppl would spend no time studying. But I didn't care. I overcame my speech impediment and tested out of special-ed and now I'm attending a pre-med school. Though, lately, I want to give up on my dream. I study harder than everyone but yet score lower than them on tests. I have severe anxiety while testing and it's gotten to the point where I just can't think straight but when this happens I stop and think about my eight-year-old self and how I watched as the surgical team saved a family member close to me and tell myself there's no other option than this. Without medicine, I have no purpose. This song reminds me of my eight-year-old self every day.
