Hi I am also a an ATC aspirant, preparing for the exam. One of the negative point you said is work location can be anywhere. Did you face any problems with this point. That is you got posted to some city/state that you don't like/ not comfortable with???? I always get this question what if get posted to place like in north or north eastern india which is far from my home (in karnataka).

No, All the airports have different topography, geography and terrain so you need to be trained and examined there before acquiring any controlling licence

Don't prepare for this job, You can crack it and get selected as an ATC but you won't get the job. I have seen many people leaving ssc jobs for aai atc, as most of the central govt jobs don't have that much influence. Salary of atc is much better than cgl. Most people don't get home posting in cgl, and the work profile of atc is more interesting than many cgl jobs.
