It has a great rhythm section! To me the song sounds between A horse with no name or Ventura Highway (or others by America), Scar tissue (or that side of RHCP), Turn turn turn (or any jingle jangle song), I'm on fire, Beach Boys (and people influenced by them), and something proto indie (Joy Division, the indie side of The Cure, even The Smiths)... The Weezer and Elliot Smith are implicit at this point, LoL. Don't why but on more then a couple of the last videos, negative solos remind me of Santana, is it just me?

I have to say that i really dislike this negative harmony version, but I am amazed how negative harmony completely changes the feel of a song and most of the time inverts it to the exact opposite. Once again great work. Please keep on making negative harmony covers. I would really love a song of TOOL. Edit: I have to add that I do not dislike the cover because of the execution, but just how the song is in negative harmony. The work done is excellent
@jimmyisawkward3 ай бұрын
Personally, I really like it. As another commenter pointed out, it completely changes the feel to one that’s somewhat sinister or psychopathic. Different, but good. But it’s fine; to some people, different music just sounds bad or good to them.
@jonengel75693 ай бұрын
@@jimmyisawkward Very interesting point. I think that in particular makes this negative harmony cover a no for me. For me the song is just connected to these feelings. Without them the song feels strange for me.

Except for the guitar solo section it sounds a lot like surf music... interesting. It is a song about... you know... not fearing the reaper and about living your life, so we can imagine it's some stoned surfer dude sitting on the beach with the crashing waves and the setting sun waxing pot-hazed philosophical while trying to romance his equally stoned surfer girl girl-friend. The guitar solo? A surfering montage with scenes of wipe outs, underwater point of view shots of the surfer, ending with the surfer making it back to the beach.
