Very GRUNGE rock. From my POV most instrumental parts sound almost identical to the original! The vocals are *no more* depressive / *desperate* but instead *they became bittersweet* / sweeter (even if still a bit creepy). The last part sounds different but as beautiful as the original.

the choruses in the intro have an interesting progression: F7-Ebadd9/G-Abm6. the transition from that back to the verse is Abm6-C, which is an interesting resolution, because the tritone within Abm6 is the same tritone in G7 (B and F, or technically Cb, but i don't care). the tension is similar as well, the Ab resolves to G, the B resolves to C, and the Eb and F resolve inward to E. with G7, the G is shared, B resolves to C, F resolves to E, and D resolves to C or E depending on the voice leading.
