It became a shonen late into volume 3. Kodansha got impulsive and greedy and decided to make two anime series to make a quick buck with no respect for the source material. Also whent he second anime came out from SHAFT, they had plenty of shonen source material to animate and decided not to. They were total pricks to Ken Akamatsu and his hard work.

Negi didn't have magia erebia until Rakan gave him Eva's scroll. Raiten Taisou(lightning form) is Negi's only unique incantation. Later only in the manga Negi combines both forms and has stability to use both of their powers. Magia Erebia can actually kill you if you fail to master it. You will lose your personality.

1- this is from a serie of OVAs they made, based in specific parts of the manga there's two series, with 7 episodes in total.. "Negima; Shiroki Tsubasa Ala Alba" and "Negima: mou hitotsu no sekai" ... this scene is from the first epsiode of the second serie 2- totally 3- absolutely... but I'm a big fan... kind of suspect to talk ^^' 4- well... the first anime "covered" (badly, but did) the two firsts "arcs" ...the battle against Evangeline and the trip to Kyoto... in the mangá, this second arc ends in chapter 53 ... so, you can starts in chapter 54... we have a little transition arc ... and after that, (in chapter 72) starts the next big arc of the Mahora Festival...

This was a series of promotionals back in the early 2010s. Ken Akamatsu unfortunately had two bad anime adaptations prior from his awful relationship with Kodansha. Ken eventually went from being a bi weekly author to monthly, the guy has never caught a break while having health issues. Sadly there will never be a legit Negima anime, a true page to page adaptation.

I think Fate referring to end of story Negi versus current Touta, which is unfair towards Touta because he still has a lot of room to grow. But EoS Negi is objectively stronger than Touta for now. Strength wise Negi can punch through all of Fate's multi-layered barriers like nothing and Touta still haven't been able to to do the same yet. Speed wise, Touta can only sidestep to dodge a lightning while Negi can engage in combat at 150km/s. The two really have quite the gap in terms of power levels.

mahou sensei negima. It sadly don't have an anime of it and you can only read it from the manga. I refuse to admit these short ova's are the animation of this great series since they just took some of the good scenes and dropped people into them without any context. Also the 2 animations (as in full 12 episode series rather than an stand alone ova) I have seen of it only show the character introductions without any real shonen elements that the series is, instead making it seem like some romance anime with maybe 1 or 2 fight scenes in total...
