After hearing this and seeing dad's reaction to everything up to this point and not returning; I 1000% believe he is the father. He denied the cops entry, stormed off and not returning, angry his daughter is in the hospital. All these point to he knew or had an idea, and most likely the father.

No, his reactions makes sense if you take into consideration their schizophrenic grandma and him being convinced that being in the hospital killed her. And now his daughter, which showed similar traits, was threatened by the same fate. And what happened? They took her to the hospital, medicated her and now she's dead. Was he right not to involve authorities earlier? Not really. But from his side, the hospital killed his grandmother and now they've killed his daughter too.

It's tragic; her plea for her sister to forgive her because she only did what she did because the 'angels' told her to do it broke my heart. Schizophrenia is a hell of a condition and its sufferers endure such torment. She wouldn't be the first sufferer to take their own life and I doubt that she'll be the last. The implication that her father was molesting her can't have made it any easier. Did she tell her doctors, I wonder? Was that why he skipped town because he was afraid that they knew? If it means anything, OP should be aware that, post that last OD, it wasn't her sister at all, just a lot of misfiring synapses. Nothing she said mean anything at all and shouldn't take it to heart.

S1. Sounds like the dad was in denial. He thought he could brush the problem away and it would solve itself. Sister is definitely schizophrenic. My dad’s eldest brother has schizophrenia. He likely had it as a child too. Dad said there were moments when his brother got wild and had to be restrained until it passed. His brother got to the point where he could feel the episode coming on and ask to be restrained. He knew the restraints were there to help and not harm him. They kept him safe and those around him safe. This was in the 1960s and mental health wasn’t really understood like it is today. My dad’s eldest brother got on medication and did very well on them. He stuck to the medication. They calmed his racing mind and blocked those very annoying voices. He said the voices, while friendly, annoyed him. They never shut up. It was bliss when the meds began working. Sadly, he lost his life in a plane crash. He was the pilot and it was not his fault in any way. Black box revealed a very desperate battle to prevent the crash. It was due to mechanical failure. He did manage to save two thirds of the passengers. He’s a hero in my book. Anxiety and depression also run in the family. I suffer from both. It’s all under control through medication and I’m doing well too.

There is just so much sadness in Story 1. Yes, younger sister was schizophrenic but I suspect OP's dad almost certainly had some kind of mental illness too and that would explain his sudden vanishing act after the girl was hospitalised. He'd either done something or was /about/ to do something and wanted to keep what was left of his family out of the 'splash zone' of the consequences. My advice to Story 1's OP is to remember your sister in how she was after her release and getting to know your baby brother. That is who she would want you to remember, not the monster her condition made her before or the frantic, dying person who was your last experience with her. Story 2 is creepy and I suspect that OP and her husband will be happier and saner being away from OP's parents until they come to terms with what had happened to their son and was still happening.
@josephwilliams24068 ай бұрын
OP'S dad is a literal peace of shit basically abandons the family, and to make things worse he probably assaulted OP'S sister. That's probably why he was so scared of her going to the hospital and why she's so messed up mentally. It's sad because most of the time sexual assault victims start feeling in danger around the gender of their aggressor. That's probably why her sister decided to be lesbian and why she chose suicide. It was a way out because she might've been scared that no one would believe her, that her father assaulted her. But this is only a theory, and it's sad either way. Hang in there OP1😔

Schizophrenia can be genetically predisposed. A friend of mine since kindergarten had it, his maternal grandmother, maternal aunt and later his mother. This friend behaved very strangely two years ago, he lived further away, was in an abusive relationship and was thrown out on the street and I tried to help him. He called me drunk several more times and I told him more than once that I didn't like it and gave him as much help as I could where he should seek help and he didn't want it and became abusive towards me and I couldn't take it anymore and broke off contact. All I know is that he is still alive and nothing more. My condolences to OP. The father is the asshole here, he should have helped his child much sooner and when OP's sister (his daughter who desperately needed help!!) was in the hospital running off and making sure she no longer had health insurance, that was basically the cause of death. Dang, that story made me sad and angry :(

I had a visceral reaction hearing about all the sister's disgusting actions, dear lord. It's depressing that they never got her the help she needed. Had the dad not been a deadbeat, all of this would've been prevented. He was the was the reason she got to that point. Even worse, there is a chance the sister got "r'd" as a form of "correction"... Poor girl. Hopefully she's at peace now for all the neglect, mistreatment, and abuse she suffered because of incompetence.

Im so sorry for OP 1. Her family is torn to pieces. If her sister was schizophrenic from childhood, she likely heard voices all her life, and in a way, they were her best friends. Since OP said she was on her meds, those voices, her best friends, were taken away, and she couldn't handle it. Her behavior around the pregnancy is scary. At least that's my armchair opinion. I hope OP and her family are able to get the help they desperately need.

It might be sad to say but people with a genetic heritage of schizophrenia can not be trusted with their iwn welbeing. A parent has an 80% chance of passing it to their children. Wouldnt be surprised if OP had it as well but was more in control. Her father, grandmother, and sister however certainly had it. And I pray it skips OP but she will most likely slip from her sanity as she gets older... And of course the brother will as well. Like I said the father could not be trusted to make decisions. And OP mother was too scared of her own husband to do what was needed for her children safety. Dextromethorphan, the main ingredient in cough medicine induces psycosis. It was her way to escape the horrors of her own reality. It just so sad. I'll say it now, and I dont care who i offend. If you have this mental illness dont reproduce. Even if you dont have it and it is just in your family, dont have children.
