Mathe te Chamkan Vaal is already a very upbeat folk song but I really feel this rendition makes you smile and makes you wanna get married, smile, fall in love. We had so much fun performing this Live. Sameer Arranged it to perfection and I felt like such a Punjaban belting this one out. Rishab aced this one on the dholak. The violin adds a modern world folkish blend and My mum helped write the added lyrics and Sameer composed those parts. Every one contributed brilliantly to this one. Folktakes will always be a very special project. Cannot wait to bring season 2.

I m glad u took up something very different. Our folk is getting extinct and we all need to revive and preserve it. It's an intangible asset, we r not realising its value right now, but if we loose it it's going to be a regret, that our future generations may have to live with, they would not know of the songs, melodies and tunes that is native to their land and part of their ancestors lifestyle, celebrations and spirituality.

Thank you for reminding me of the very best parts of my early years in India. I left India when I was 7 and although a lot of memories have faded, you have awakened the most lively parts of my childhood. I will describe Neha Bhasin and Sameer as Queen and King with folk songs being their gifts to all the lovely people out there who follow and love them. Journey to the folk singles started 5 years back but in 2020 we never thought that there would be a complete album of such gems. 💎 Soulful music, simple but mesmerizing videos, adorable lyrics and use of interesting musical instruments (that only Sameer can think of) are incredible... Every song in #FolkTales is to be cherished... Talking about #MatheTeChamkan, I wish it was created few years back so I could have used in my marriage ;) ... The moment this song starts you can see the twinkling happy smile of viva "Diva" NB. You know you are here for a treat with musical notes of Violin, Harmonium, Tabla, Drums, Mandolin and Guitar all dancing with the special voice... NB like all her songs has completely owned this version... The little dance moves, electric blue hair, the saree look, the sparkling eyes and bright smile (yes I will mention smile again) coupled with NB's astonishing voice are brilliant... My favorite part of the song is close to the ending when beats become fast and you just wanna get up and dance... Lots of love 💓 💖
