That was the construction crew working there fault. Whenever we are excavating near gas and water we hand dig with shovels to find it then we proceed. That was a rookie crew

The geyser was stopped and rerouted. Metro Nashville Water crews are still working round the clock to get the break fixed and water service restored to the surrounding neighborhood.

Any good experienced excavator operator knows the first thing you do if you accidentally hit a water line is block the water with the bucket…. Been there. The big question is how did they hit it that hard? We used to rake the teeth backwards when near a line - usually, the teeth will bump it, but not break it. Otherwise, it’s good old fashioned manual labor to find it.

Honestly as someone that drives that road everyday I have doubts about the expertise of the crews that are working this project. Just the way it's going about being done. The water main break instills the doubt. Some days they drive a slow peice of equipment to other sites holding up traffic for everyone. Does the city not have enough to be used on the different sites? The pointless pinch point in front of Discount Tire meanwhile the extra lanes sit unused and untouched for months.
