The miracle happened . unbelievable a year later they started filming on 17th April 2023 for episodes in the autumn .and one of them did go into a British soap soon after in Hollyoaks in the UK.

Wow, I absolutely loved this. Neighbours was my happy place and my escape as a child and young adult. I haven't watched it for 10+ years but seeing all my favorites again felt really raw. I cried soo much. I'm eternally grateful for the memories and the people who got me through a difficult childhood 💖

Same for me. Neighbours was 25 mins escape each day. Dreamed of living there when I was little. As an adult I visited an old school friend in Oz and for a laugh I visited the set, brought all those old memories back. I owed it to my younger self to go see it 👍so glad I did it was surreal in a brilliant way

Surely a channel or streaming service has got to pick up some of the episodes and start showing them?? I'd love to see it right from the beginning- I was too young then (only started watching from 92/ 93) so would be great to see them. Plus anything in the 90's- that was my era!

@@aries898 no, we didn’t get that in the U.K. but thank god someone uploaded the Australian version to KZbin. I’ve always wanted to see communication between Beth and Ned since Ned first arrived. The Australian time slot apparently had more time to cover. We got an hour and 5 minutes in the U.K.

Also the final shot I think was different- we had the whole cast and crew waving at the drone camera not just the main cast like I’ve seen on the international version

@@aries898 we had an episode at lunchtime last Friday and repeated at dinner time then an hour-long episode at 9pm. If they didn’t have to put in so many commercial breaks it would have given more time. Up until 2008 it was on bbc1 which didn’t have commercial breaks. I suppose the commercial breaks were helping to fund it, although it seems it wasn’t enough…

If they do, I hope they issue the classic episodes on Blu-ray so we’ll have sensibly sized box sets (about 6 discs) as opposed to DVDs, which would require about 27 discs per season (not to mention the ridiculous amount of physical space the DVDs would take up across multiple seasons). Once the series transitions to HD though, the disc count can increase to about 20 per season (which is still a lot lower than the equivalent in DVDs). I strongly doubt that the entire series will be released on disc at all, but I would love to grab the 80s seasons at the very least, and maybe some of the early 90s seasons. I’m not terribly keen on anything beyond that.

Why didn't they just run with the idea of having the weather on this day in Ramsey Street as being a cold day, as it was, and have everyone dress accordingly. This is supposed to be set in Melbourne, and everyone knows Melb is fricken freezing in winter. Why does everyone have to be dressed like it's the height of summer. My daughter got married in Melb (23 years ago) aged 18, and had a gorgeous medieval long sleeve dress and a stunning long warm hooded cape worn over the top as she was married in winter. She looked magical. In the real world Australia isn't 12 months of warm sunny days, especially in Melbourne. Good to see everyone was looked after with a nice warm blankie for in between shooting though. Well done guys. Wonderful finish to a magnificent show, true Aussie icon.😊🙏💕👏👏👏👏

Yeah It was always perceived as a sunny warm show from day one lol Even when they were all cold as hell filming in winter, It always seemed on screen it was summery. Heard that many times in interviews from the cast. And yes it was all filmed in Melbourne (apart from when they filmed scenes elsewhere), I've been there a few times visiting family and I was shocked how cold it can get during winter.. I'm not used to that coming from Onslow in the west lol. But the constant sunny vibe is what gave the show it's charm imo.

@@katethomas5712 Hi Kate. I had to look it up as I live in Perth, other side of the country, my daughter lives in Melbourne. Ave in winter around - 3 celsius to top of 14C during the day. No doubt you will think that is pretty mild but down here that's pretty cold. There is snow in mountain regions.
