In the demo the Korean crossed to right hand left lapel, (Right lapel from uke's perspective) better leverage.

This really looks like Seoi-otoshi? I mean it looks very impressive but I am curious about it.

Thanks for the clarification! I guess I have to watch more for the Te Waza details!

There is more about judo techniques than just the grip :)

SEOI OTOSHI is Kneeling shoulder drop. Leverage point is like seoii nage with kneeling down. The demonstration of Sei otoshi here really looks similar. But this Taiotoshi technique is more like rotate around your body.

Its pretty much a no gi technique. You take the hand, and the pushing hand goes on the opponents biceps, and locks this way on the inner elbow. You perform the tai otoshi kake ans you should be able to pull it off, provided you have practiced it enough.

@@emperorjimmu9941 There are many throws that can be adapted for no gi, ippon seoi nage, O soto gari, o goshi, uki otoshi, tai otoshi etc. just using the arm / hand instead of the sleeve, and hugging around the back / waist or wrapping under the armpit

Yes, underhook or cup the back of the neck, hold the wrist with other hand. it's pulled off occasionally during MMA

Isnt holding the hands illegal?
@lq_126 жыл бұрын
Asigna I think under new rules it's ilegal but I really don't know :/
@vittocrazi5 жыл бұрын
@@lq_12 i understood it is illegal for breaking the grips, and you cant take the fingers. but holding the hand should not be illegal, i think.

Japanese always have banned new technique which other countries come up with so that they can be winner always. It is big loss if we consider about progression of judo. Half of judo is gone when they banned grabbing legs. Sigh..
@jaymorris34683 жыл бұрын
Interlocking fingers is for defensive purposes but grabbing the wrist or hand for the immediate reason for attack isn't as far as I know.
@hyonhoshin12412 жыл бұрын
There is no reason it should be illegal
