But he is so famous that he is too confident, arrogant and pampered; he couldn't explain Gravity on Joe Rogan and bumbled , sidetracked and distracted to avoid the fact that he couldn't explain it. He's arrogant because he doesn't open up to ideas from 'lower, non famous' scientists outside the establishment who do have answers. In his Cosmos series he constantly hearkens to famous scientists who were rejected because they weren't part of the "academic establishment", yet made scientific breakthroughs. It's a given that breakthroughs have to come from "mavericks" because they aren't thinking like most others. I went to his tour talk and was bitterly disappointed because he was lazy, pompous and didn't open up to questions from the audience where a maverick might have been able to wake him up and challenge his complacency. He also got hand fed questions from a co host who has the smarts to know , but never challenged him either. Then you had to pay an extra price to "meet and greet" him afterwards where his 'authority ' would not be challenged if he had done so in public. I felt like I was in a religious revival for smug elites who reject religion but still profess their superiority through the ' new religion' of science of which he is obviously a High Priest. It was verified in the closing part where he read from his book like a bible only to tell his believers to 'love the planet and go and sin no more' !
