the reason why Dr. Tyson is liked because the way he explains in a right and clear way and not twist the question.

no its because he says things in a lay person's way of understanding. Because he is an affirmative action baby and can memorize what smarter people than him have explained to him. He has never produced anything original, period. He is famous because he is rare, an African American that is portray in the media as an intellectual (please don't take that statement in the wrong way, I'm not saying its rare that Africa Americans are intelligent, I'm sayings it's rare that the main stream media portrays them to be intellectual). A bit like that same way Morgan Freeman is famous.

EEE Tee He is smart and everything everyone knows was taught to them. Including you, like name something you discovered yourself? Nothing, and just because you don’t discover something or learned from other people, doesn’t mean you aren’t smart. Everything you will learn, unless you discover it will come from someone else, sure he learned it from someone else, but he puts his own twists and opinions in it. Which is why is smart, to be smart , is to be curious. And he is, and he is an Astrophysicist, and what are you doing? Also the media, whom I don’t like much, portray him as smart, because he is and expresses what he knows and his opinions.
@mastervrse4165
@mastervrse4165 5 жыл бұрын
EEE Tee But if you want to get technical about what smart means we can. To be smart, you need intelligence. Intelligence is being able to apply knowledge and skills, to everything around you. Even if you don’t agree with what he is saying, he studied Astrophysics and is using the skills he got when he studied it and is applying to everything, and is telling people what he thinks. So, he is definitely smart.

funny how people use uncommon words to try and sound more intelligent when a simple word would suffice. exotic, uncommon, or descriptive words are used to create more depth in a sentence than would be if you would only use the regular word for convey some meaning. Otherwise it just comes across as obnoxious, conceited and compensating for real intelligence. Actually Nachos you and Neil deGrasse Tyson have something in common ;)

Say what you will about Mr. Tyson, but he (like Carl Sagan before him) has truly inspired a generation. He cares deeply about the proper education of our children instead of brainwashing them with religious nonsense. A great man, in my honest opinion. What a great, fascinating interview.

If it was and I try to go to Japan from America and go west why is that a shorter amount of time to get there than if I go east? politics and personal opinions aside, this guy inspires many to learn, question, investigate and enjoy the strangeness around us (including myself). while i was mildly curious and interested in space and scientific oddities within our world as a child, it never really grew into a passion and that really is too bad because now as i approach 30, NDT became a kind of beacon of tangibility to the world of science, i want to soak up as much of that information as i can and i cant help but wonder how much more i would know by now had i found that spark to continue studying those fields as youngster with basically "free" education at my finger tips and if it may have turned into a career. it doesnt do any good to ask "what if?" but i am human after all

This interview is so great! I agree that it is so important to expose our kids to every opportunity available to them, especially since schools these days do not provide any extra curricular activities anymore. When I was a kid we also went to museums and zoos and all kinds of interesting places. These are just as important for their development as a textbook, I think even more important.

Try the math on how much momentum the Earth has and what's going to happen when that has to go somewhere. You have to account latitude for your distance calculation. If you were at the pole you wouldn't fly anywhere, just spin if the Earth magically stopped but you didn't.
