“Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life - and travel - leaves marks on you. Most of the time, those marks - on your body or on your heart - are beautiful. Often, though, they hurt.” RIP to a hero and inspiration, Anthony Bourdain

I understand the concept of suicide and the allure to those who succumb to it but what i can't understand is how a parent could make that choice? How could you leave your child with that mental burden? I don't get it. You should tough it out for the sake of your child. Just my opinion.

Life is short, bittersweet, and odd: A scientist and atheist/agnostic can point out how very precious all life, each person is, while religious and political people can rail against people and do things to destroy life on our planet, both humans and other life, and to poison our environment. Much respect for Dr. Tyson as usual. He's not perfect, but he's a good guy. He's trying hard. Sorry we've lost Anthony Bourdain. -- BTW, Alton Brown has science / chemistry training besides being a chef. I'd bet he'd be a good guest for Neil deGrasse Tyson. -- Such small details as one life, or one little event, one comment, can change so much. life is precious. Beware those who hate, for they are complicit in destruction.
@rawlespringer39176 жыл бұрын
so some scientist and atheist/agnostic don't rail against people and do things to destroy life on our planet? or is that exclusive to religious and political people only? i echo the sentiments of TheFisheyman42....religious..agnostic..atheist....scientist...who cares..some one lost their life..

@missmiami92306 жыл бұрын
Bullshit!
@athnuachan1196 жыл бұрын
I don't think this was addiction. It looks to me that travel changed his view. He began to look at all the trappings most people have and contrasted with the sometimes very poor he would interact with on his travels and saw the dichotomy to be heart-wrenching. Can you imagine being him, travelling the world, seeing poverty and starving children and his job is to ask them about foods and flavorings? I mean how awful would that be, really. In the supposed last video you see some guy who's 3 sheets to the wind dancing with a girl meanwhile Anthony is barely squeezing out a smile. He felt alone. Add to that rumors that his gf was seeing someone else...

Stop believing what global media tells you. Suicide cannot be determined for weeks by default, yet these reports LABEL what allegedly happened in minutes. Ever stop think and think about that? Suicide cannot be determined as fact in minutes. You might think they are selfish, but you are a misinformed LABELER, which its own version of selfish, bordering on dangerous.
@Toxicantfrog6 жыл бұрын
as someone who is dealing with mental health it is a seriously selfish disability. the pain that you experience minute by minute every day is so cyclic that is builds and you can easily find yourself in a situation where ending it is the easy option. believe me that anyone that has considered suicide or followed through has thought many many many things about their family and life before aforementioned. its a gargantuan problem and dominoes very easily. Oh Forget Mars THIS IS FOR MR. BOURDAIN🍛🍻, The truth is, Not all of us become the person we once hoped we might be, We are all Gods creatures. If there were those amongst us, Who thought ill him, Or failed him in respect of Love & Care, Then we ask for your forginess, And we ask for his. A moment of silence👏....GOD be praised. Now you get to cook for the almighty MR. BOURDAIN, Thank You for sharing. IF ONLY If only I’d stopped and knocked on your door; If only I’d known you couldn’t take any more; If only I’d been there, if only I’d called; If I’d not been so busy - and once again stalled. Why didn’t I see then, the pain in your eyes and know that you felt so alone and despised. Why didn’t I hear the hurt in your voice, and know you were about to make your last choice! Maybe if I had been home on that day, I’d have changed things for you in some little way Maybe if I’d chosen my words with more care, I could have seen more and been more aware. I feel so bewildered and torn from inside, The truth of it all gives me nowhere to hide. Each time the phone rings, though I know it’s not you, I’m still trying to see things from your point of view. God, help me find some true peace of mind, without leaving the memories of this friendship behind. Grant me the courage to start once again, To trust in the love and the life of a friend.

Anthony Flores let's pray for Anthony today. Anthony, you're too angry at a God you not believe in Him. Know He loves you and that we are all His children. He gave us free will. He's not a puppet master or a magic genie. I pray you'll enter a Church. Sit there in silence and try to pray. I know the power of the Holy Spirit will find your heart. Please be open to it, my friend. 😊

I never met him but every time I turned his shoe on it felt like a friend came over to visit. I remember a show he did in Hong Kong and he went to some noodle house in Kowloon and it took me back to the streets of Kowloon as he talked about the smells of the street...rest easy friend. I hop you find some fair winds and following seas and peace on your travels.

Raw Stories you know the accepted theories are true because they power the world. You can't build successful rockets and cars and medicines on false ideas

I understand that his Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is fiction, but what Tyson says here is kind of antithetical to the dialogue of the cameo he was given in the former. Life cannot be simultaneously both precious and insignificant.

Believe the gospel 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 for eternal salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ! Trust Jesus! His precious blood that he shed on the cross redeems us and his resurrection justifies us. He defeated death and hades for us! We are redeemed and made Holy because of our faith in Him. We are saved by grace through faith. Ephesians 2:8-9. God bless us all. Get saved please! Have faith! 😇🙏❤️

I think many Americans are confused about the phrasing on things like "life on Mars" or "extraterrestrial life". Scientists aren't talking about literal Hollywood aliens with massive civilizations and UFOs. They're talking about molecules that help paint a picture that a planet had life or has _potential_ for life.

Going by everything that I've researched, Anthony was fully recovered from his drug addiction. He may have found a coping skill in drinking, but we didn't find him with alcohol poisoning did we? He has mentioned that he has found a purpose in living for his daughter and whole, yes, he may have suffered from a form of depression, was it really enough for him to kill himself? This situation and circumstances seem so "convenient". I, personally, didn't understand how the media described the scenario as "his chef friend found his body dead from an apparent suicide". Even with Robin Williams or Prince, there was a more descriptive caption like 'dead from asphyxiation' or 'medication overdose'. When people instantly equate Anthony's past drug addiction and possible depression to instant suicide... I tend to think a headline to be "found dead due to accidental overdose". But instead, we were told instantly that it was "suicide" only to find it late it was due to hanging? I hope there is an autopsy done. But I bet we will never hear of it and nothing will be said any further. For these reasons, this is why I am at a loss for AB's death. Yes, I feel something doesn't quite make sense here.
