The guys actually publishing the papers have no skills when it comes to communicating, try reading a paper. Neil's ability to explain complex topics to the average people is impressive and his biggest skill, He has talked about it in the past that he doesn't do research anymore but focuses on this but sure you stick to your "He's not a scientist" and discount everything He talks about and stay uninformed.
