I feel like it's not my story to share, but I have an uncle who is going through alzheimers right now. He loved to sing Neil Diamond songs. My cousin captured a video of him singing this song in the state of his dementia. It just broke my heart because I know he's still in there, even if lost to the people he used to know and love. The lyrics of, "I am lost and I can't even say why", just broke me.

It may seem bad and even hopeless but this to shall pass. You'll make it and someday you're going to look back and maybe even be glad. Times like these humble and shape us, we learn compassion and empathy and appreciation for things others take for granted. I'm pretty good at picking up on things and reading between the lines. Maybe I'm wrong but something tells me your story is bigger and a major obstacle is holding you back. I think I understand more than you realize, so here's the secret to having a beautiful and successful life, do the right thing today and when tomorrow comes do the same. Soon doors start to open and real change takes place. I'm not just talking, I've been there, it's not easy but worth it and I can promise it works. Chin up, the future is yours.

Neil Diamond was always a brilliant song writer. Imo he is one of the all time best writers in the music business. It is hard to believe that he began his career just writing great songs for other artists to record. He wouldn't sing his own songs because he thought he had a bad singing voice. Lol I'm glad he changed his mind and started singing. There is something about Neil Diamond's voice along with his lyrics that make his songs much better than when other singers sing them. Neil Diamond gives his music feeling and often sends chills up your spine, gives you goose bumps, or makes a tear roll down your cheek. Nobody makes great music like this anymore. Rock on Neil!

If you're young and healthy, have what you need and peace in your home be greatful. Many people have situations and conditions that have forced them into lockdown for to many years to count. Some people are stuck at home with abusive and argumentive partners. The poor have nothing but desperation. I wish more people would seek the truth and see how they're being manipulated. This world be a good time to do some research and listen to people speaking the truth. Senator Dr Scott Jensen exposed an internal document telling doctors to label ALL deaths as Covid 19. It's right here on KZbin. Search:. Show your local hospital.... they're empty! So why is a Microsoft engineer an expert on vaccines? Do you know anything about Event 201? Do you understand what ID2020 really is? Maybe you should watch some footage of the event to better understand what's happening and that it's not going to end soon. Listen to Richie from Boston. He's been warning us for years!! He doesn't say anything without proof & shows documents. Nicholson 1968 would be a great wake up channel. Do you listen to any of the press briefings? No Presidential seal on the podium. Yellow fringed flag........ maybe look up what that means but is not being said.

@@patrickbone6171 Thanks, man. It's a little better after returning to work, but outside of work, we are told to stay indoors and away from people for longer still. I can see it's really getting to people everywhere. And people are now nervous about being near others. Things will never be the same, that's for sure. Sadly I've read of several cases where people couldn't handle the fear of catching Covid-19 or the stress of isolation or primarily online-only interaction with people and took their own lives. Two recent cases I read was a teenage girl so afraid of getting sick from the constant fear-porn on the news, that she killed herself over it. Another was a 12-year-old boy that couldn't deal with being cut off entirely from his friends, and when his PC broke, and he had no peers to communicate with, he too chose a permanent solution to a temporary problem. It's so sad. I've not seen it that bad in my area, but humans are social beings, we need social interactions to remain mentally stable, happy, and healthy. I'm sure there are many more cases of mental anguish from all this than is being reported. And many of or those are on the edge of a personal precipice after this prolonged lockdown. All of these people need prayers as well.

I was in a band with my best buddies. We weren't famous, but we had some followers. I had a pretty girlfriend, a nice car, some money, and yet I was so empty and lonely - sort of like Neil Diamond. Then I saw a movie about Jesus. I walked onto a church lawn one night and I asked to meet Christ. I know it sounds crazy, but "This is eternal life, that you know God and Jesus Christ Whom He has sent." I lost it all: girlfriend, band, car, money - but I am friends with Christ and I could not be happier!

***** Hi. You were 'born again?' Did you tell people you know Jesus personally? Did you lie? I do know Jesus. You were a tare among the wheat, a false convert, a wolf in sheep clothing. I hope you get to know Christ. Sin might seem fun for a season, but what does it profit to gain the whole world and lose your soul?
@micheleallen14028 ай бұрын
Did you see the movie THE JAZZ SINGER? It's a story about Neil Diamond's life. He is Jewish and learned WHO the "I AM" was before he could walk. The I AM is the ALMIGHTY GOD. In my opinion, Neil was crying out to God in his loneliness. In the movie, I didn't understand why it broke his father's heart to see Neil make the decisions he was making but that was bc I watched it before I became born again (John 3:3-8). It wasn't until after I became born again, (in other words after I repented, was born of the water (by immersion in the name of Jesus for the remission of my sin) and was born of the Spirit (God filled me with the Holy Ghost and I spoke in tongues) (Acts 2:38), that i learned many things from the Bible regarding the Jewish Nation and was fully able to understand both Neil and his father. Yes, God gave Neil much talent but He also gave him a free will, just as He has given to every one of us. Just a side note: when we are born again, the blood of Jesus is applied to our life so that we can be redeemed back to God. In Deuteronomy 6:4 it says: "Hear O'Israel the Lord our God is one Lord… So the God of the Old Testament is simply the Jesus of the New.

And it's perfect because he talks about being lost between two shores...I say...nowadays I'm lost here down the shore. This song is just perfect. I will always be a NEW YORKER. My dream is to move back home in the house I grew up in. Buying it from whoever owns it now by making them an offer they couldn't refuse $$$$$$$. I am a foreigner living, already long years, in a place where i don't belong, sometimes I cry when I listen the song I am I said, and let the tears distort the vision of the space around me, and I can really travel inside my heart and soul, it's an intense energy for just a fraction of seconds.. .. then I fly back to reality, and I think that I am lucky to be able to experience these feelings ...and thank you, Niel Diamond, so much for that.

This is classic Neil Diamond! Even though it had been years since it had been a hit, and even though I moved to L.A. from another Northeastern city other than New York this song rang so true and through my mind many a time as I transitioned into my new life here. Relocating to an entirely different part of the country is really a very challenging thing to do. Neil hit the nail on the head with this one!

I am dedicating this song to my aunt chris, it has only been one year since you passed away but it seems like it was yesterday, but for me it seems like I was just sitting in your kitchen just talking to you about building you a deck for your camper. and now you have been called home to be with the good lord. for me it still hurts me very much deep inside that you are not here for me to call and say hi how are you doing. I do miss our talks that we use to have and all of the good advice that you have given me over the years. I will always remember all of the fun that we had when we went camping over the years as well. I know that you would tell me not to dwell on your passing and to go on with life. but I wanted you to know that you had the greatest impact in my life over the years. and I have always thought of you as a mom and always will. thank you for helping to raise me and take care of me. love you always. your nephew angelo
