why oh why don’t we get a release of love at the greek with the whole concert on it ?

I hope the vaults will be opened one day. Other artists like Neil Young, Bob Dylan, etc. often release older, never released material. Why, for instance, not release the Love at the Greek TV special on Blu-ray?

we never even got longfellow serenade and the last picasso on the cd release , but a blu ray release would be amazing yes , doesn’t even need to be the tv special , just the whole concert would be amazing ! i’m sure it would sell . i’m amazed they haven’t done this

Neil definitely performed these in '71 & '72 ('Hot August Night'), but I do not believe so in '76 ('Love at The Greek')

Despite speculation that these recordings are from 1971 or 1972 I think they may well be from 1976. We all know that Neil changes the musical arrangements and vocal phrasing of lyrics regularly from one concert to another. These versions certainly do not sound like the 71/72 versions. The other giveaway is during the band introductions; Doug Rhone and King Ericsson (spelling?) were certainly not members of the band in 71/72.

Also,if you look at the setlist for the 1976 Greek Theatre shows at setlistfm.com,Neil sang these three covers at this order.This bootleg concert is pretty much the "Love at the Greek" album.But also includes these covers,Morningside,Solitary Man and much more dialog.

. . . The great Alan Lindgren was Neil's pianist from 1971 until he retired in 2015. So , as previously stated by Howard , this is either from Neil's first 7 night stand at The Greek Theatre in August '71 or more probably (?) from his 10 night stand that became 'HOT AUGUST NIGHT' in 1972 .

tom hensley was the pianist from 1976 onwards , i don’t know for sure but my bet would be that it is tom hensley playing on these tracks
