Neil Dudgeon has already spent a decade playing DCI John Barnaby on Midsomer Murders, after replacing John Nettles in the lead role, but says he has “no intention” of leaving the ITV crime drama.

Great interview. Great to see him current, dressed that way, at a party. He looks good. I certainly wish the British fans would get it as soon as or sooner than the rest of the world. I’m in USA & my best way to watch newer series is borrowing DVDs from my local library, for which I am grateful.

I think the show was criticized for being too white, not representing today's diverse society. They obviously made some adjustments.

You can get the skinny on this on Wikipedia Midsomer Murders/Controversy. Basically the original producer of the show revealed he wanted to make a show that was the 'last bastion of Englishness' which apparently meant no non white characters by his thinking: that was the end of him (thank goodness).
