I've always found Gregg's best comedic ability with his Neil Hamburger character is his quick response to the audience "heckling" him. He is so good at fiercely verbally destroying anyone in the audience.

I like how Neil uses the strange phrase, "nattering nabobs". @aquanecromancer57765 жыл бұрын
@@14192jn He makes making very deliberate decisions to sabotage everything about the comedy, and it's just hilarious to me. How he carries himself, the words he uses, intentionally ruining his delivery by drinking from one of his 3 glasses of water mid-joke, checking a note card because he can't remember his jokes, the dated targets of his crap zingers, etc.
@14192jn5 жыл бұрын
@@aquanecromancer5776 fair enough if you like it but just because what he's doing is intentional doesn't make it smart, clever or interesting, at least not for me. I have been a huge stand up fan for probably going on 2 decades now and there are so many stand ups who are far superior imo. As I said shit stand up is shit stand up even if it's supposed to be a spoof of shit stand up and he knows what he's doing, a nudge and a wink that he's aware isn't enough for me to look past lazy writing and surface level jokes with next to no wit, even if that is the point there's not enough extra that he's giving for me to feel like I'm in on the joke with him. I have many of the same problems with Andy Kaufman's material although I can say at least Kaufman's material wss unique for it's time. This is just boring to watch and I shouldn't be bored watching someone whose job it is to make me laugh.
