Just before I put this on, I was thinking with Neil gone, the world’s a sadder place. Then I pressed play. That was totally joyous and for the span of it playing, Neil was alive again. Amazing. You are so missed, Neil.

you know....... there a a bloody lot of people in the world, that we know of and it is not till they have gone, that we realise how much we , depended, liked , needed, them. I daresay there are people that we do not know about aswell...in that same genre, that have made the world different in a person. Neil is one of them....i will never forget watching Innes book of records on tv and feeling like i was a renegade/ pushing against the system, for watching it. Same as older ones thought about MontyPython. R.I.P Neil

So sad to hear of his passing - only saw him once a few years ago at a theatre at Southend. He was so funny and a better musician than I certainly gave him credit for prior to seeing him. When the show was over he came out into the bar and foyer area, mingled and chatted to the audience - such a nice man. RIP Neil

"Medley of Hit", brilliant ... Neil's performance as Rutle "Ron Nasty", alone should've made him a legend, but if you need more, how about being Brave Sir Robin's minstrel in The Holy Grail? Yeup - he's THAT guy - wrote the music too ... Neil, being a modest lad, seems unaware he had an unmatched presence on camera in the 70s; which wasn't hurt by rubbing shoulders with the Beatles and working with Vivian Stanshall in The Bonzo Dog Doo-dah Band ( you can't make this stuff up ). In short, Neil's a musical comedy legend: but ironically, despite playing Ron Nasty, he's much too nice to say so.
