You’ll find this 1969 version of ‘She’s Not There’ on the CD compilation ‘Into The Afterlife’ by The Zombies. Opening track, in fact. Also contains other songs Colin Blunstone recorded under the name Neil MacArthur.

Lyrics No one told me about her The way she lied Well, no one told me about her How many people cried Well, it's too late to say you're sorry How would I know, why should I care Please don't bother trying to find her She's not there, oh oh oh Nobody told me about her What could I do Well, nobody told me about her Though they all knew Well, it's too late to say you're sorry How would I know, why should I care Please don't bother trying to find her She's not there Let me tell you about the way she looked The way she acted, the color of her hair Her voice is soft and cool Her eyes are clear and bright But she's not there Well, it's too late to say you're sorry How would I know, why should I care Please don't bother trying to find her She's not there, oh oh oh Well, let me tell you about the way she looked The way she acted, the color of her hair Her voice is soft and cool Her eyes are clear and bright But she's not there

This is like the movie Images, 1972. Don't know who is who. About halfway through the song I was feeling sorry for Neil M., who didn't have a big hit with this song, but had just as good a voice, maybe better than Colin, and got just as good as sound on his cover. But before this I listened to this version of the song as background on another video and thought it WAS Colin, who else?

I certainly do like this song which is done a bit differently than the Zombies. It starts out like a Folk Rock Song but changes through the course of the song. When it gets to the part of the flute it sounds like it has a bit of Jethro Tull in it. It's a great song because the main principle was followed here. When one covers someone else's material than you need to make it your own. This is fantastic indeed.
