He told me that learning SEO takes a long time, and the online seo courses Which only takes two weeks Not enough ..... And that's what scares me .... because i m not at university ..... I know you are actually asking Neil, but here is my take. Even if you take a course in SEO that lasts 2 weeks, you are going to need to actually practice that knowledge on an actual website and that takes a lot of time to see results and change things to improve your results. The university courses have 2 hours SEO seances like once every week (since they do get other courses like design, marketing, hosting...etc) don't get discouraged by what your friend said; in 2 years you will have way more experience than him. Doing stuff beats by miles learning them in theory ! So go ahead ! start a course and get your hands dirty on a couple of websites. Soon your "friend" will be working for you as a freelancer !

My course gives you all of the SEO basic guidelines. However, that doesn't necessarily mean you can start doing SEO perfectly after that one course. Even taking college courses doesn't make you an SEO expert. It takes experience. It takes time and practice. I've been doing it for over a decade and I'm still learning because SEO is always evolving. :) It's what you do with the knowledge you're given.
