Here's a fun fact, the guy in the black school uniform (called delinquent A (based on Tachibana Toru or the punching enemy in the arcade version's first stage)) is played by Saito Shin'ichi, the background designer for various tiles in both the Kunio kun and Double Dragon series. The guy in the suit and glasses (called delinquent B and is possibly based on the Yakuza enemies from the arcade version) is played by Naritaka Nishimura one of Technos's main programers and visual and naming inspiration for the characters of Naritaka in Nekketsu ko ko Dogeball Bu (Famicom) and Naritaka Nishimura (also known as Rocko in River City Ransom) in Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari. The sole female in this gang of three (called delinquent C and possibly based on Kumiko (aka the chain girl)) is played by Tasaki Akemi and Kunio is played by Sonoda Kazuyuki. However, the voice of Kunio (who is narrating) is voiced by Ogata Koji the main character designer on various titles throughout the Kunio kun and Double Dragon series. Lastly, there is a credit for Shiroto Masao (the artist behind the iconic box arts of Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari and Bikkuri Nekketsu Shinkiroku etc.) who appears in the background of the credits sequence. Lastly, I would like to say thank you for preserving this video! I was so saddened to see the original video being removed. Also, the Kunio kun stage show (called Rantou Enbu Hen) is actually on DVD! It is a rare find though as it was only available on the company that produced the show's webstore, I did see one or two pop up on Yahoo Auctions though.

And in charge of the planning production was Kishimoto Yoshihisa himself, the creator of the Kunio series. Also, Masao was the name of the bald student (with the wooden stick) in the arcade version of Nekketsu Kouha.

@@dieinfire920 He's nameless in the Arcade version, the Famicom version gave the regular enemies names. Tachibana Toru is the one with the stick in the FC version, the one who punches is called Akira. When Dodgeball Club came out on the Famicom, Toru and Akira used their arcade designs and in the process revealed their names. So, when we refer to Toru and Akira, Toru is the one that punches (since the designs match up) and Akira is the one with the wooden sword (his designs also match up). Funnily enough, Akira would grow hair later on in the series (it's short... but hey! He's no longer a Tako Bo~zu) in Chou Nekketsu Kou Kou Kunio kun Dodgeball Bu.

@@Kunio1920-kun Thanks for the info. I don’t remember where I read Masao as name of one character, maybe it was in a Fangame. Btw, feel free to check my Kunio-Kun fangame.

The renditions of the game’s soundtrack that are used as background music in this sound incredible. Also, i’m pretty sure this is one of the only videos on the internet that has an actual Kunio arcade cabinet featured in it. I haven’t seen ANY other video with one. Neat

The soundtrack comes from a cassette tape. I have it it’s pretty cool item. It was also featured as bonus cd on the PS2 “Oretachi” game series on which the arcade Nekketsu Kouha was ported on.

There’s a game bar in Kansai that has the original arcade. Ogata (the character designer for the old Kunio and Double Dragon games) went there a few months ago.
