I finally cast on the penny gloves yesterday. I am using some beautiful orange Cardiff cashmere I bought in Italy last month. Cardiff cashmere is only $15 USD in Italy. If you cancel out the expense of the trip, I got an amazing deal on this yarn. 😂

This is a fun video, thank you. Julie Asselin is a Quebec-based yarn company and their yarns are soooo lovely. Her Leizu DK is so nice and her Anatolia mohair is dreamy!!!! She has gorgeous colourways in everything

Loved seeing your plans and project ideas! And hearing you talk about Pascuali Tibetan - I agree yak is sooooo soft, sometimes it feels softer than cashmere!

Thanks for this video. I'm testing the Luz Sweater for The Knit Purl Girl, the Moby Men's sweater for my husband, a Cloud Sweater for a friend, and whatever else my friends/family request in the next few months! Merry Christmas!

For Nick, with an interesting shoulder construction is this pattern called the saglan, by Ailbíona McLochlainn! The name of the pattern comes from the construction being a combo of a raglan and saddle shoulder. Don’t know if it’s like what you’re looking for exactly, but it’s a unisex pattern that can be knit in both worsted and fingering/sport weight!

For a boucle yarn project I have the Zipper teddy sweater by Heidi Gronvold in my queue. I love how it can be as neutral are bold as you want.

Definitely cast on those Penny Gloves. It is such a quick, satisfying knit, easy enough to be an on-the-go project but also very potato chippy because you have sections to work through: straight for the cuff (I often shorten this bit for personal preference), then the gusset shaping, then the hand above the thumb, and finally the thumb. They are so useful when you want easy access to your phone, keys, dog leash, whatever, but need some warmth. They are great gift knits too. They are a great palette cleanser, when one wants/needs a quick FO dopamine boost. One week at the outside. I enjoy knitting them with magic loop. Easy peasy. Encouragement enough?

I’ve just finished a sweater for my husband and I found the pattern an interesting construction. Set in sleeve and seamless. It’s the Drake sweater by Todd Gocken.

Since seeing your recommendation for the shift cowl I have knitted 5 in Edition 3 yarn- all so different from changing the colour combo. All my friends and family want one now. Thanks for the inspiration! 😊

Though I do not knit, I do love watching your videos. I currently have a color block cardigan (without the color blocking…lol) by MJ’s Off the Hook Designs on my hook at the moment. I also have a simple v stitch blanket going as well. My oldest (step/blessing) daughter is having our first grand-baby this coming February. So exciting.

Amy, I love the Penny Gloves! I decided I was going to knit pairs for my family this year for Xmas, and one pair took me about 3 days. The only thing that bothered me about the pattern was how long the glove is. It covered my entire wrist and forearm, and I learned after my first pair to only knit about 2 inches in the round before starting the increases for the thumb. Happy knitting!

I knit up the Penny gloves in 2 days for a gift. It was a great small project to clense the palette! I also bought knit Picks High Desert to knit a Traveler Hoodie this winter. The yarn comes from the Shaniko Wool Company in Oregon. I believe Shaniko is a sheep bred from a Merino and a Rambouillet...super bouncy and soft.

I've been eyeing that Lyon sweater for myself for awhile. You're right, that shoulder construction is *chef's kiss. I have some really lovely dark red aran weight from Green Mountain Spinnery and some leftover Oatmeal color fisherman's wool from Lion Brand. You may have talked me in to casting on 🫢

Maybe I’m missing it but I don’t see the yarn information on The Shift cowl you’re wearing. I couldn’t quite make out the name you called it. If it’s there, could someone kindly point it out to me? Thanks’

I just ordered the yarn for a Beatrix cardi, I've been trying to put it off until I've finished some things off but I found the kind of sage coloured wool yarn I wanted for sale 😂 excited to see how yours comes out if you manage to get to it!

Making my 2nd pair of Penny gloves. My daughter asked for them to be 1 1/2”shorter than original pattern I knit for myself. Using Malabrigo Caprino, a merino cashmere blend. Love them!! Quick. Thumb needs some extra work as u only pick up 2 stitches in hole.

As far as the boucle yarn Nora from AKA Nora Knits has made the artemesia sweater and loved making it so much that she has yarn to make a second one. It's definitely worth watching her video all about it! I love all of your plans. It sounds like you have enough options from current WIPs and stash yarn projects, but the boucle does sound fun and different. Nora is also making that same hood you featured and really likes the construction.❄️🧶☕️🧣🧤

And Nora made the Beatrix Cardigan too. She’s got a different vibe, so pretty interesting overlaps.

Love your channel. For Nick, KZbin channel Maya tinks episodes 31 32 and 33 talks about her Halmoni Jacket design, unisex, fully cabled, seamless, top down, saddle shoulders, pockets and zip. It’s a bit thicker so suits the yarn you have. Could be worn as a single layer or over several layers to keep out the cold. To be released around 20 December 2024. Her instagram features pics of completed garment.

You might want to take a look at Ailbiona McLochlainn’s Versal sweater. There’s a men’s version that I’m making for my husband and I think the shoulder is similar to the ready to wear styles you showed. I believe the yarn weight is flexible too.

I really enjoyed this video! I recently filmed a winter knitting plans video as well. One of my biggest plans for this season is to knit the Ixchel sweater by Catherine Clark. It was on the cover of Pom Pom a couple of years ago and is an all over colorwork design.

How long does it usually take you to make a sweater? I’m so jealous of your plans, I’m lucky to make 1-2 sweaters per year 😂 I’ve been knitting for 15 years and I don’t feel like I’m getting any faster 🙈
