Fully agree with you Kieth. Although I don't live in Lincolnshire I travel to cleathorpes regularly to detect as it's my nearest beach and a good day out for fish and chips. When the ban is in place I'm afraid I won't be coming again and will visit other beaches further afield that I can detect on. The local council certainly know how to draw in visitors to the area to boost the local economy!! As you say, what's the difference of a detectorist digging a hole (usually beyond the shore line) and someone digging on the beach to entertain the kids? This also raises the question of the council having control of the beach beyond the high tide line. My understanding is this is crown land and beyond thier durasriction. The way they came to the decision is questionable too with the vote not being fully in favour of a ban, but the council going against the outcome and imposing a ban anyhow. Its a sad state of affairs mate and such a shame they have chosen to go down this route. Keep safe pal, cheers.

Fight for your rights to detect, do not ever let them take your rights away for spurious reasons. Solidarity with you and your fellow detectorists in North East Lincolnshire. I hope other detectorist groups around the country help with your fight because it could happen to them.

Just looked at the crown estates map of the uk, and royal permission is given to the common people to be ableto detect in this area. Have the council got rights over the Crown estate?

Respect to you Keith for your stand against the council and shouting out for detecting on that beach . I must admit I'm confused here though ! Either that stretch of beach IS an SSSI or it ISN'T ! . Seems pretty clear to me where both parties stand here and surely there must be in the Land Registry where EXACTLY SSSI's are ? Boundaries etc . You made excellent point here , not only about the good work we do clearing rubbish/sharp objects , but also the time honoured tradition of children digging holes on beaches making sand pies etc ( and so they should ! ) . Surely the key here is wether the SSSI north of the beach , covers all the way to the marsh area to the south ? . It just has to be in writing somewhere ? Well done mate with your efforts here . I hope you get some support locally . If info is found that the area you work is NOT an SSSI , a mass detection should be organised and I for one would travel from Notts to support it !

Ty mate.i never relley bothered with cleethorpes beach till recently.with me having a good 6000 acras of land and other beaches i more focus on.but its the principle of it.i got friends that love to go on ther and its always been allowed.somthing i didnt mention in video i was approached by council last week and he said beach safety buggy been stuck in sand twice this year and one was a detectorist hole and other bait digger.so i think that this as triggered this and council just found a loop hole in the system.ty for your support its much appreciated
@happydace6991 Жыл бұрын
@@lincolnshireshistory6877 you are bang on when you say it's the principle I totally agree. And regarding the buggy getting stuck .... Specsavers springs to mind ! You can see baitdiggers work from hundreds of yards away as well you know . And how the hell do you get stuck in a hole left by a detectorist ???? Admittedly there should be no hole , but I don't believe that you can get a buggy stuck in a single hole ! . I repeat though mate . . . . It's either SSSI or it's not and if it's not , they have no power to do so . Please keep us posted and let me know if I can assist in any way . Just another point here ..... If the council do win and it's a complete ban , with it still being a public accessable area , we are still allowed to be on there with a metal detector , as long as we don't dig ! Just like on a public footpath on private land . As long as you don't disturb the soil/sand , you can swing a detector till your decking arm drops off and nobody can stop you. What's the point ? I hear you say ...... Can you imagine 50 Detectorists swinging on there but not digging ? They wouldn't have a clue we were in our rights to do that ..... as long as we didn't dig and it would freak them out !!! 😆👍

I might be wrong, but isn't the sand/beach area crown land and we have permission to detect without a certificate unlike in the past.
@lincolnshireshistory6877 Жыл бұрын
That's very correct mate,but nelc have different ideas so now you have to apply for a permit every time you go and it's limited to where you can go on ther plus ther enforcement officers are protroling the area all the time
@51mm7 Жыл бұрын
So let me get this right, I can go down the beach with a bucket and spade, dig as many holes as I like without filling them in and thats fine as long as I don’t have a metal detector with me! Surely the lunatics at the council realise how mental that is?

hi keith,i was on the beach last week and the amount of people who actually agreed with what your saying, also a salmon farm is being planned and the cleaning not sure what they use backs up some of your comments ,the council should know the real issues of cleethorpes the locals can show them if not aware ,shame this area should be open to all, i enjoy detecting good for my mental health and really ive never seen detectorists being a problem on the beach, i avoid the ones that are a problem not a good advert for cleethorpes your channel highlights lincolnshire off a treat, much better than the council are portraying it, they want to have a walk around cleethorpes and its problems, im sure they have more serious matters to attend to, if owt they should encourage detectorists the amount of crap yer take off the beach responsibly for free its a no brainer tbh

Hi Sam,they actually had a peaceful protest down ther yesterday regarding them plans for the salmon farm.its not good for cleethorpes atm,they seem to be in the papers every day for all different reasons,and getting voted the worse seaside,you think the council would pull ther finger out and try and sort things out better.cant wait for upcoming elections
