Thank you for simplifying this as best as you could. The other videos I found far too complex. I completed the first infinity scarf for my partner as an Xmas present. I never touched wool or sewed in my life, so it was a struggle. However, after hours and hours of perseverance, I got there. I started a second one tonight as a late surprise gift for my mother in law and I completed it within a half hour. Once again, thank you, from a very happy "man" and those he has made these scarves for. Dublin - Ireland. Merry Christmas 🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀

How would you start and finish this scarf if you don't want it to be an infinity scarf?
@caerys6 жыл бұрын
Hi there, late reply here. To "cast off" the end of your normal scarf, make a loop at the end corner of your last row as usual but *overlap* it with the loop beside it, then pull the yarn through the two loops to make a new loop. then move over to the next loop, overlap it with the new loop you made, repeat. :)

It might be more understandable if the camera was above and behind you looking down. It is a bit confusing as to which yarn to grab, working or tail when you are looking at the screen from in front of you. Left becomes right and vice versa...did that make any sense? Sorry, I am a hands on learner and I got totally lost at the beginning.

Does each skein make 1 scarf? Want to make a couple but not sure how much yarn to buy. :)

For this scarf, I believe it was two.

I couldn't find the jumbo diameter that her yarn is, mine is still chunky but 1/2 of what hers is. Because of that, I went 8 loops across to start off so it would be wide enough. It also took a couple of hours because there are so many more loops. It turned out beautifully though. I wanted an infinity scarf but at 70 inches, it seems too long for that. I will prob do the next one at 50-55 inches & make it an infinity scarf. At 70 inches I have used approx 1/2 of the ball so should be able to get 1 more out of it - or 1 for my niece at the very least. I wish she gave details like her total length & how much yarn she used/had left. I had issues getting my loops right starting out & ended up doing it right on the table (followed the GIANT white merino wool scarf video to start off). After you get your loops started its easy breezy...
@mls35556 жыл бұрын
I used I Bernat Blanket Extra - just 1 giant ball. The yarn is approx the diameter of a jumbo crayon
@mls35556 жыл бұрын
@@NelleCreations When you add on the 2nd ball of yarn, do you just tie a little knot & keep going as if it were the same continuous strand?
