Say It Right Lyrics Nelly Furtado-
[Intro: Timbaland]
Frk-frk-down
Hey
You don't mean nothin' at all to me
Hey, hey
[Verse 1: Nelly Furtado]
In the day, in the night
Say it right, say it all
You either got it, or you don't
You either stand, or you fall
When your will is broken
When it slips from your hand
When there's no time for jokin'
There's a hole in the plan
[Chorus: Nelly Furtado & (Timbaland)]
Oh, you don't mean nothing at all to me (Hey, oh, oh, hey)
No, you don't mean nothing at all to me (Hey, oh, oh, hey)
But you got what it takes to set me free (Hey, oh, oh, hey)
Oh, you could mean everything to me (Hey, oh, oh, hey)
[Verse 2: Nelly Furtado]
I can't say (Say) that I'm not (Not)
Lost (Lost) and at fault (Fault)
I can't say (Say) that I don't (Don't)
Love the light (Love) and the dark
I can't say that I don't (Don't)
Know that I am alive
And all of what I feel (Feel)
I could show (Show you) you tonight, you tonight
[Chorus: Nelly Furtado & (Timbaland)]
Oh, you don't mean nothing at all to me (Hey, oh, oh, hey)
No, you don't mean nothing at all to me (Hey, oh, oh, hey)
But you got what it takes to set me free (Hey, oh, oh, hey)
Oh, you could mean everything to me (Hey, oh, oh, hey)
[Verse 3: Nelly Furtado]
From my hands I could give you
Something that I made
From my mouth, I could sing you another brick that I laid
From my body (From my body), I could show you (I could show you)
A place (A place) God knows (That only God knows)
You should know the space is holy (Ah-ah-ah-ah)
Do you really wanna go?
(Three, four)
[Outro: Timbaland]
Hey, hey, hey
You don't mean nothin' at all to me
Hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey
You don't mean nothin' at all to me
Hey, hey

There's something about this song that makes me teary. You know when a song makes you nostalgic not necessarily for the lyrics or the song itself but because you reconnect it to a memory or a time? That's the feeling. This song is so iconic and such a statement for those years that I immediately reconnect it to my childhood, I listen to this song and the image of 9 years old me dancing with my sister in front of MTV on saturday mornings flashes in my mind, it takes me back to a time that feels so distant and so different from today but still so "mine", nostalgia at its best. If "core memory" was a song it would be this one.

Never really fully realised how important it is to leave people who are toxic, be it friends or lovers. Like, it was always a known fact that all people with experience keep repeating over and over, to “leave them”, yet I kept thinking that it was more complicated than that, so I stayed “a bit longer” with people to see if it gets better because I really didn’t want to lose those few wholesome moments we had in between the toxic ones. I believed it was worth it, but once I was close to reaching my limit it became apparent that it really wasn’t. And then, only then, did I fully understand the advice “just leave”. And I do it in a heartbeat now too, be it good or just a tad too paranoid. I sure don’t want to experience that again, and only wish that I’d left earlier. Don’t be me guys, leave. ✌️
@Jas3567
@Jas3567 Жыл бұрын
Don’t know why you’re even sharing because other people will continue to do whatever they want to. It is not ever ok to stay with a toxic person but that’s also not the fault of the victim. And leaving someone in a heartbeat is not something easy to do nor do people want to be forced to their limits with a toxic person. Goodbye then glad that’s working for you! But I don’t agree completely with this belief. It’s just sort of insensitive to people who have dealt with toxic individuals who did not take responsibility for their actions. I’m glad your life philosophy is working for you, but it’s not always that easy for others to accept these things and it’s not happy go lucky

Remember that you don’t attract what you want, you attract who you are. So focus on love. Focus on happiness. Focus on feeling fulfilled and like you already have everything you’ve ever wanted. Focus on gratitude. You are a powerful source of energy. When you do this, you will get what you want because you are in alignment and focusing on all you have instead of a lack. You're still baddies and you don't need anyone to validate that feeling! You are unique and there will never be another you! Look yourself in the mirror everyday and tell yourself how beautiful and lovable and worthwhile you are. And that confidence will come back 😁You can tell your brain how to think by repetition and the words you tell yourself are real to your brain! Be it's boss! Don't let others control your brain because life is so precious, and you are too precious to waste your life. Be happy and Fuck what everyone else thinks! Hold your head up high, look them in the eye and let them know who they fuckin with! In a good way lol. Let em know!

My aunt loved her music so much. I remember when my uncle picked her up after a long day of her working she would play this stuff. She meant no harm with the words she just felt the melody. Boy did those days mean so much. They mean more now than they ever did. A few years later I appreciate everything a little more. But I'll never appreciate her absence in my life.

This song is bad ass and I'm an old school rockin' roller. It's got a great groove, the lyrics and singing are fantastic, the distant male vocals are addition, there's even glockenspiel in this song which is rarely used in pop music since the 1960s - I believe even the drummer for Led Zeppelin, John Bonham would love this song. He loved music in general, particularly anything which was anything new, unusual or unique.
