I love the initial oil sketch as much as the painting. If I could like this video 10 more times ...I would! 😊

A lot of the people he paints are mass murderers. Hopefully, this realisation makes your head feel heavy.

@baltigra He probably tried to paint her jurist soul but couldn't find a a black darker than Mars Black. or the costume she'd always wear.

WOW...what a GREAT POST!!! Here are two Persons of GREAT INFLUENCE! The AWESOME NELSON SHANKS and JUSTICE SCALIA who's demise was met with an UNTIMELY end, and WREAKS of FOUL-PLAY! I hope JUSTICE is FOUND for this great man! Because of Shanks' reputation as one of the leading ART FORCES in the country, he was able to get CLOSE and PERSONAL with such people as JUSTICE SCALIA.

Scalia's own family didn't want an autopsy because they knew just how sick he was. Since his illness was hidden, conspiracy minded people like you have doubts. BTW, he was three weeks away from turning 80, a common age to die. Life expectancy for males is 78.83 years, so he outlived that.

Just wondering what the greater honor is... Getting to paint Justice Scalia's portrait, or having your portrait painted by Nelson Shanks.

the timing joke ? I must be really dense. I just don't get it :(
@bilbocox30027 жыл бұрын
this maybe trivial in light of these two icons, but, could anybody please explain Justice Antonin Scalia's joke 'timing'???
@RobertF-7 жыл бұрын
Well I'm not sure why, but Antonin Scalia was acting like he was a comedian from Poland and Nelson Shank was acting like he was interviewing him, so when Nelson Shank was going to ask him another question Antonin Scalia interrupted him and said "Timing". It was a play on that old saying "Comedy is all about timing", so he was acting like he was a great comedian who was referring to that saying about good timing being important by saying "timing", but in a way that ironically was actually really bad timing by interrupting him. It was kind of a subtle joke. Someone has to be familiar with that saying "Comedy is all about timing" to get it.

Guess you had to be there. But when a supreme court justice makes a joke you laugh. And Nelson did.
@jeffhreid5 жыл бұрын
The joke is the classic Pole joke where the guy always messes something up. So the greatest Polish comedian , the secret to his success is.... timing! But being Polish he says timing at the wrong time. Ethnic jokes used to be quite common. There were ones for every ethnicity. Not as common today with political correctness.
